Hello all
I’m Russell a long time lurker and now that I’m getting farther along with my project I feel like it belongs here. I have a 57 Chevy 150 Sedan. Right now I’d say it more of a pro-touring car than a street fighter. For the most part the budget of a 22 year old kid is downright sad so I’ve had to make sacrifices. On the up side My family has a hot rod shop here in Texas. We’ve been doing C4 corvette suspensions swaps on TriFive’s via a new frame and a few C5 swaps as well.

One quick note the rat rod name came as a joke from my buddy because every car I’ve had has been anything but a rat rod. LS motors and Aluminum suspensions is where it’s at in my mind. So it’s an oxymoron of all things.

I’ll be starting a thread later for my 57 Black Widow 2.0 but here’s a quick pic.

Thanks

Sweet 57 Russell, that frame and suspension are killer.

Sick. I've always loved the "black widow" theme. I've always thought someone would build a black widow and use the six lug wheels and stuff off of a CTSV. That way you could keep the black widow six lug thing.

Glad to see another young guy on the board. I'm 23 myself. Alot of people on here dont know that.
Anyway, great looking project. And if I could give one work of advice from one young guy to another, "Dont try and keep up with these old tymers". Take your time and spend wisely, rushing things only puts you further behind.

Thanks all around

This site has just the right amount of S#!@ talking and awesome projects, I think I really going to like it here.

The Black Widow has to sit for a little while we've got a ton of work ahead of us with orders coming out the wazoo.

I'm going to start a thread with all the up to date info about my little street demon and post everything I've posted on the Tri Forum. Those guys are cool but I get a lot of flack for the car sitting low and other old people comments. :rotfl:

I do auto cross when I have something worth driving. my last roadster that I sold I ran Auto cross in Austin and San Antonio and then I was hooked but at 1956 pounds with a 49.8/50.2 weight split I was viper grip with corvette go and lotus weight. kind of a hard combo to beat so they put me in the unlimited class X mod where I was racing trailed cars. but It was still a blast.

Thanks again for the warm welcome

na, it had this problem at 148 MPH she would go air born. Here's the last C4 raodster that we're building. We lowered it a little in the front and extended the nose horns so we could put a wing on it

Looks pretty, but I can't stand carburetors and strait axles. Blowers are nice but I like turbos better as well. And it a little tall too, I'll bet the roll centers in that thing are just bad. It probably accelerates like a dragster brakes a little better than your DD and corners like a 1932 ford, (.4 g's and it rolls over.)

Sorry old school's not my thing my rat rod name came from a buddy of mine making fun of me since I would never waste so much time to specifically make something old when there’s all the cool technology to play with these days. Rat rods look cool but not a true hot rod in my mind, there more like period restorations. Hot Rod’s came around from taking the most bad ass parts you could get and putting them under the car you had to make it faster. So I don’t count that highboy as a hot rod but a cute restoration so please stop trying to sell your car in someone else’s thread that has nothing in common with yours.

In my last roadster I never got a chance to take it to a skid pad but I know I was pulling more G’s than a buddy of mine in his C6 and his MaxG logger was saying he was pulling 1.2 with his R comps. I’ll start a thread here in a few months when I get started on my next project 32 with all C6 Z06 suspension.

YEEEEEOWSA! This one's got some fight in him! Glad you're here, but note to self: do not post pictures or any discussion of my car in your threads. Cool cars, whether they're ratrods or hotrods or ramrods or whatever term of the week you'd like to apply to them. I've long had the idea to build a nasty little deuce like those two--glad you guys are out there doing it.

ya sorry about that. I've worked as a moderator on other sites. so the keep the threads in line always shows up when I'm online especially around stupid-o-clock. Cars are what we all love that's why we're here but rules are rules. I think its time to let this thread die too. Thanks for all the feedback.
