So, 8 - 10 weeks is a typical amount of time to wait for a custom set of rims to get built. I understand that. My rims are supposed to get here finally on Friday the 13th. The wait is killing me. Even though my car is far from being a driver. It made me think what are some other long lead items someone has had to wait for. So, what is the longest time you had to wait for a car part?

I have been waiting 6 months for my 552, BUT he has had some major bad problems with family so it was no problem. I dont think 10 weeks for a set of wheels to be cut out is real bad......

CCW [Complete Custom wheel] had my 18" wheels to me in a week. They are beautiful on the Velocity Camaro.

They also were extremely good to work with when I changed my mind on the backspacing on the rear wheels a month later. Here is their link...

Ask for Chip and tell him Bret from Air Ride sent you. BTW...I'm not trying to work off a sponsorship deal from them...I paid retail.
Have fun!

I never said that was bad to have to wait. I am just saying it is killing me. I don't handle waiting well. Bret, the rims are already ordered. And your car is gorgeous. Did a great job on it. The wait is just killing me. I wanted to see what other's have had to wait for. That is why I posted this thread.

A couple years ago it took over two months to get the wheels for my cutlass. It was driving me nuts and I finally got them 2 days before I left to go to hot august nights.:scared:

I understand your stress in waiting!

Try ordering a set of Fikse's from Fikse themselves. Not saying anything bad about the wheels, I love them, or their service, but man what a wait.

Actually I am not stressed about it. Anxious is more like it. As a kid we unwrapped our atari for two weeks before Christmas to play it. Then we wrapped it back up before our parents got home from work. They never knew me and my brother was playing those games for all that time.
I just don't handle waiting for anything, all that well. :hand:

Not a performance parts but I had an interesting situation at the body shop I was estimating at. We had a hammered close to new Jag. Bags had deployed and when they go it also set the seatbelt pre-tensioners and the belts can't be used again. It took 6 months to get the belts. Car was finished for 5 months just sitting waiting for them. Farmers insurance was real happy about that rental bill.

Waiting sucks but it is like Christmas when the items finally arrive. Gotta love this hobby - you definitely get to know the UPS man. My gauges from Aurora finally came today after 5 weeks, boy the wait was worth it. Feel Your Pain. Have a Budnik "ICE" steering wheel ordered for over a month. When ordered from DSE they were told it was in stock and ship in two days. I was promised it should be to me tomorrow after I threatened to cancel order. Need to send car to Frank and they were holding up progress.

The longest time I ever waited for a car part is 2yrs +.

That's right, 2yrs + and I still didn't get it. The Nexus speedometers were promised and promised from 2 months to 6 months each time I would check the status. Finally I was able to return what I had and move on to Racepac stuff which in the end has turnd out for the better ,but time will tell.

Thanks guys.:fingersx: I guess if what Tellyv said about hoops...maybe I will be waiting 4+ months also. I sure hope not. My last email to them said expected delivery is 13th of this month. Only a week and half away...and I am so anxious. Maybe, if I didn't have to save for the 6 months before ordering that then this wait wouldn't be so bad (we try to only pay cash and not credit for my hobbies). Rims cost so much, I feel like I have waited years for them.

So how long was your wait?

8 weeks X 2. The 1st set they sent had the wrong bolt pattern. I said 5 on 5 with 5/8" studs and they sent me 5 on 5 for a 1/2" stud, ala Impala. They eventually made things right, but it took a while. This was also back when they 1st started doing wheels for cars like ours. Before that they mainly did Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, etc.

Thanks, that doesn't exacty set my mind at ease whenever I get a set. Lol. I'm going to need 5 x 5.5 bolt pattern, too. Not exactly a common one.
