Hi guys,

With Larry's permission I would like to introduce my new travel site to my fellow pro-touring members: http://www.thelonelybackpacker.com

My second passion has always been travel (my first being cars). I'm hoping with a little help from pro-touring this site can really take off.

Why was The Lonely Backpacker created?

“There has to be a better place for online information.” I found myself saying this over and over while researching my next world travel destination. I would spend hours reading through different websites, pulling a little information from this one, a little from that one, and then try to piece it all together to create a complete picture of what to expect and plan for my trip. Every time I started a search, I was disappointed with the online lack of personal reviews, incomplete information, or poor website organization.

There has to be a better way. This is why we created TheLonelyBackpacker.com. As many travelers already know, the best inspiration for a trip comes from other travelers sharing first-hand experiences of their adventures. Many of the places we have traveled to have been directly inspired by the people we meet along the way. The Lonely Backpacker aims extends this experience online and provides a central, well organized location for all travel needs. Whether you're searching for traveling tips, personal stories, pictures, facts and information, or looking for a travel partner, The Lonely Backpacker is soon to become the premier network for all your travel needs.

The site has only recently gone up and we are adding content daily. This is the first public announcement of this site and I figured what better place than a great community that I have been a part of for years. Over the next few weeks we will be sending out annoucements to our travel networks we are involved in.

Please take a moment to stop by, say hi, and feel free to post any questions, stories, or what ever is on your mind.

Thanks!
Ryan

Cool idea. I'll have to bookmark that one.
