Its time to start thinking about the wall of coolers that we will be installing. One of them will be an intercooler. So far the only ones I have looked over are the Bell brand. Very good size selection with any tank you could want. Before its time to order, what other brands are worth looking at?

Ron Davis makes some nice stuff and several other members including myself have them. I don't think they have them on their website so I will locate some pictures and post them here.

Griffin also. I got one from them and am pleased with the quality and price.

Very happy with my Bell... I designed it (custom end tanks) and they helped me pick out a core, just under 2 weeks from order to my door.

I also went with Bell and they made it just how I asked, brackets and everything. They are pricey compared to the EBay IC's available out there but their quality and config selection is primo.

How does the rad support work with that. Do you use a custom one, or run without one?

The radiator is supported on each side by brackets that bolt through the core support. I should make everyone aware that intercooler above will not allow you to run a stock hood latch. I had planned to run two smaller hood latched in the corners until I decided to go with the Anvil Carbon CF hood. Since I have to use the stock location hood latch I swapped out my intercooler for the on Ron Davis makes that allows you to run the stock hood latch. Below is a picture of it before mounting.

Here you can see how the radiator was mounted.

So Ron Davis makes an intercooler that allows you to run the stock Hood Latch support. That is great.

Do you know the part number so I can get pricing

Mine has not been mounted yet so I can't confirm that 100% but, other members of the site have one and they worked well. I know Jody (http://camcojb.com/ttlt1/engine.html) has one and so did Scott G (http://www.lateral-g.net/g69/project/assorted/28.jpg). It goes right in or goes in with minor mods to the support depending on how high you want to mount it. I will get a part number in the morning for you.

Try this. It's the p/n for my intercooler before I modified it to clear my oversize radiator. 5-02130B

I would suggest calling and asking for Ron Davis (http://www.rondavisradiators.com/) himself to verify the number.

yes, I had Tim design one for my twin turbo LT1 Camaro. It requires some trimming of the front latch support, but the latch, etc. all work and clear. On the first one they built you'll see that the inlets came straight out, which required trimming the front bumper brackets. They since changed that to Larry's design to clear. Very nice piece. Supports over 1000 hp, and doesn't block the whole radiator, which can cause cooling issues. I was going to use it on an RS, but realize the headlight doors won't open. Not an issue with good lights on a 69, but would be with the solid doors of an earlier rs car. Standard front end, works and clears fine.

Thanks on the Part Numbers. As Jody brings up with the 67/68 RS setup you cannot open the doors so no headlights. So that wornt work for me.
69 no problem.
