Did anybody notice the funky alternator setup on it? The field windings were bolted around the snout of the water pump . I have never seen anything like that. Anybody got any info on it for curiosity sake?

I saw the same setup on American hot rod and was wondering the same thing. Alt.& water pump all in one, sounds like a good idea to me. Anybody know?

Maybe it was American Hot Rod. I don't remember anymore. Too many damn TV shows.

I've seen those before. The water pump pulley is the alternator! Don't remember who makes them tho. FRANK

its made by barrett engineering, they don't have a website that I know of but there phone # is 1-800-671-1711. I found this info on page 25 of the Feb. 2004 street rodder magazine.

hope this is what you are talking about.

The waterpump impellers look like art. I bet they flow a ton.

Thanks Kevin. Looks like something I may have to consider on my next build.

I remember seeing a magazine article on those a few years back. I don't see any info on the website, but from what I remember, they don't put out many amps. So check into that before you try to put one on a car that may need those amps.
