Hello to all Pro-Tourers on this forum!

SPINDRIFT and his 81 Eldo are happy to have found you all. Running an '81 Eldo 368CID V8-6-4 in The Netherlands, of all places, isn't that asking for trouble? Well, things are not as bad as they often seem. What I've done so far, is restoring this cruiser to it's original condition, and it has still got the base engine and transmission with 75000 miles on it. The variable displacement function has been disconnected, so it runs permanently on all eight. I am using it on a daily basis as a commuter and cruiser, BUT: I am interested in transforming this car into a sleeper with big muscle and corresponding tranny and brakes, keeping the body as is. Any suggestions are welcome. Enjoy your rides!

Welkom. Ennuh, je bent niet de enige Nederlander hier! D'r zullen er straks nog wel een paar langs komen.

Jeff Schwartz already proved how to make a Caddy (very) fast. Have a look: http://www.schwartzperformance.com/cadillac.htm

Hi ixfn,

I won't look back and will take your advice after I've seen the superclean pics of your 500. My Caddy will stay all Caddy. Will check in at CF as well. SeeYa.

Welkom Theo. Waar woon je in Nederland?

Hallo Turbo Rob, ik woon in het Groene Hart, een piepkleine landelijke oase (nog wel) in de Randstad tussen Utrecht en Den Haag.

. . . If you have plans on moving back here, I would strongly advise against it, but that's personal of course . . . so stay put and enjoy the place and the space.

If I move back it will be to Limburg to enjoy the space there. It is a tough decision, as I can have a couple acres with a huge garage here, or move back to Nederland (and enjoy the Dutch life) and hope to find a house with a garage (or not).

If you cannot have both, I would count my blessings without looking back. Within an automotive oriented thread it would take too much to get into the gory details, let alone politics.

@Turbo Rob, FYI; more than enough houses w/garages and space to enjoy up in the North (Groningen/Drenthe) for much lower prices plus a nice track nearby (TT-track Assen). Even better are the prices just accross the border in Germany . . . .
