I am going to get some of that Zaino Bros stuff and go at it on my Camaro.

I am curious... What polisher do you guys recommend?

If I may inquire what you'll be using the polisher for please?

Is it to completely "rub-out" a newly painted finish eliminating orange-peel entirely or merely to remove slight paint oxidation to bring back the shine as in paint detailing?

There are a variety of "buffers/polishers" to choose from which is why I ask.

Thanks!

I use the Porter Cable unit.. it's the same one Meguires sold (with thier name on it) before they switched to thier new one.

The polisher is used to save time waxing and "polising" (buffing) a car.. it's not really for "color sanding and buffing" type work.

I use a combination of foam pads and micro-fiber bonnets.

The car is already painted and has been for a while. There are some fine swirl marks on the car now and I would like to bring the luster out more in other areas. So basically it's for detailing.

Then I would suggest you look around for detail polishers. There are so many choices available. Here are a couple:

I have not purchaed anything yet. I have been trying to get feedback on what polisher to use... I heard a couple people using the Porter Cable polishers and they like them.

I am going to use the Zaino Bros Polish on my Camaro... They say on the website it can be done by hand, but my Brother bought some Zaino and he said you will have a hell of a time doing it by hand.

Zaino is not a polish it's a protector and hides swirl marks. You apply by hand let it dry for 1 hour and then wipe off. If you use the ZFX you can only apply 2 coats per day. We use #2 and #5 on all our cars. Usually 6 to 8 coats and it's good to go and wears like iron!

A rotary polished is to be used with a 3M polishing compound and a wool or foam pad. These are used to remove scratches and swirl marks.
