What is the best media(besides soda) to use on bady panels? I want to know what is good for the amount of money it cost.

You can use corn cob media, it works really well and is super soft so your panels wont warp. There is also man made plastic medias that you can get as soft as you want... check this site out http://www.kramerindustriesonline.com/blasting-media.htm

Walnut shells are a good choice as well. And, its reusable.

Here is some info that may help:

Aluminum Oxide Media - #70 Grit
Longest lasting rust removing media.

Great for removing rust from cast iron parts like exhaust manifolds and water pumps.
Excellent for removal of carbon, and paint, and for paint prep.
Consistent 70 grit size ensures even abrasive action.
For use at 80-90 psi max.

Aluminum Oxide Media - #90 Grit
Best used to clean light rust from thin metal parts but also great for removing rust from cast iron parts like manifolds and water pumps. Creates a fine anchor pattern for paint adhesion. For use on metals with low metal removal. 90 grit size. For use at 80-90 psi max.

Glass Bead Media - #70-100 grit size
An all-purpose abrasive for all types of metals and many plastics.

Best on softer metals like aluminum and brass.
Great for cleaning pistons, engine blocks, and light rust removal with minimal dust.
Use at 60 psi max.

Walnut Shells Media

The best media choice for removing baked-on carbon deposits from ferrous metals (ex. iron, steel), or to clean internal parts.
Great for gentle removal of paint and carbon from ferrous metals.
Strong enough to exhibit fast cutting action on deposits without harming the metal.
For use at 80 psi max.

Silicon Carbide Media
Silicon carbide has very sharp edges which make it ideal for removing heavy rust, welding and brazing prep, and for glass etching.

Very aggressive media
Uniform 60 grit size for even, fast cutting action.
Maintains its sharp cutting edges as it breaks down for longer life
Use at 80-90 psi max.
Silicon carbide has very sharp edges which make it ideal for removing heavy rust, welding and brazing prep, and for glass etching.

PolyBead Media
PolyBead Abrasive will not harm fragile surfaces and produces less dust.

Excellent for stripping paint or powder coating from sheet metal and fiberglass.
Works best at low pressure. Use 35-90 psi max.

Soda Blast Media

Blast and remove virtually any coating with a clean, water soluble mild abrasive
Ideal for cleaning most substrates
Eliminate messy cleanups

Maintenance M Soda Blast Media is the ideal mild abrasive formulated with enviro-friendly sodium bicarbonate (baking soda). M media is composed of a soft crystalline structure making it a natural water soluble and inorganic compound. Clean and remove virtually any coating from almost any substrate. Media is developed with a premium moisture control system, which coats each crystal, making it almost completely waterproof. “M” is for the regular cleaning tasks. For more aggressive applications, “XL” (made with the largest crystals), is the preferred choice for paint removal applications.

Ground Glass 40/70 Mesh
Excellent for light rust removal.

Glass Bead Blast Media - #100-170 Grit
Glass Bead 100-170 Grit. Best used when blasting delicate or thin metal parts

Rust Remover Bicarb Soda With 20% 36 Grit Aluminum Oxide
No need to use multiple medias to blast away rust when you use this 20% blend of #36 grit aluminum oxide hard abrasive with bicarbonate soda.
