I've been on this board for a number of years and we truly have a great community of enthusiasts and friends.

Folks come on here for a number of reasons. Educate themselves about protouring, hot rodding, etc. Network with fellow gearheads to exchange ideas/opportunities. See what the latest trends or hottest new technology is available for our rides. ETC....

And then there are those who selflessly give GOOD advice, genuinely knowledgeable and go above and beyond, even to the point of personal cost or time away from family and friends to help a stranger of all people! Whether it's to look at a car that is half way around the country, transport a new pride and joy, offering parts that just collect dust, even though they are worth money, and those acting as a trusted vender or source with real world experience in their products and services they design and/or sell.

These folks help us keep things in budget (ok, we all know there's no real budget), save time, headaches, divorces, AA meetings, prevent us from making wrong moves all the time.

These friends, IMHO are what really make this hobby, community, asylum, an amazing experience and move our passion to the next level and beyond.

I have many personal examples of such generosity, usually on the receiving end, but nevertheless, stand witness.

I propose an annual PT.com ambassedor of excellence award that will recognize deserving individuals.

A simple nomination and voting system can be used and the most votes win. There could be some small prizes, or whatever, I'll leave that up for debate, but I think a big ol pat on the back always feels good.

I realize there is a slim chance that it could turn into a popularity contest, but I think we're mature enough to self-police and keep it meaningful.

Anyway that's my thought of the year ( I only have one or two, too many beers), so what say you, PTers?:1st:

I don't post much on this site, but no matter how you slice it, it will become a popularity contest, just the nature of the beast.

Question is who will be the one wielding the hammer saying this vote doesn't count, etc...
