1973 Camaro I'm working on as time and money allow.
The car is a real rust free Z28
Full Hotchkis suspension
American Racing wheels with carbon fiber centers
steering wheel ,lugnuts and center caps made by me
plans are to upgrade the brakes and exhaust eventually and murder out all the chrome and trim
change the dash
repaint eventually
Thanks for looking

thanks for the replys
the rest of the car is pretty stock so far. it is a slightly hopped up 350/350 with air conditioning stock 10 bolt car so far.
I'd like to put an ls2 in it and an overdrive but that will be as budget allows. I'm also building a 1963 pontiac tempest that was going to be pro-touring but now I think I'm going more towards a Maxom mile type car - bonneville racer. I'm so far away from having it done I had to have something to run around in this summer.....so thats the camaro project. my plan is for it to always be driveable.
thanks for looking

That there is what it's all about!
Too many peeps buy cars with huge ambitions and tear it all apart only to find out it costs money to put it back together! Then they lose interest and it either sits or they sell it.:banghead:
Enjoy the car, I love it! Great color combo!

Nice Camaro. I was wondering how the Tempest was coming along. I picked up a '62 F-85 Vert awhile back, so I've been watching the Tempest build. It's nice to have one on the road while working on the other projects.
Keep us posted with the changes you make.

thanks for all the replys. I've kinda stalled out on the tempest. Its basically ready to go to the body shop. All I lack are all the funds to pay for it..lol......I'm also finishing a 61 impala for my father 409 car . I guess Ican throw a pic of it up here sometime.
Thanks

That is so true........
What happens is regular guys try to keep up with bigdogs and without the cash it cant be done. I dont know how these guys do these projects that take like 5-7 years. That would kill me......

I think your car is the first picture I have seen on here with road grime from driving behind the fenders - at least you are driving it! Way to go!
The car is sweet - I like the steering wheel - never seen one before.
I'm all for being able to drive a car while fixing it up too. While mine was down for over a year, it drove me crazy!

I designed and built the first American Racing style steering wheels. Now Billet specialties is popping them out. American Racing has sponsered me for over 10 years and all the cars I've built have had them. Unfortunately they have gave up on AMERICAN manufacturing and are now sourcing all there stuff to China. It is painted and the horn button was milled down and real carbon fiber glued to it. I have some more pictures coming soon. I have put Anvil Carbon fiber hood and trunk on the car and I'm in the process of blacking out all the trim. I have also installed Wilwood discs all around. Thanks for your comments. Sorry it took me so long to reply on here . I forgot to check this thread. The tires are goodyears. 245/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear.

Cool - post up some pics of the hood and decklid if you have some. man - I like 2nd gens.
I knew that the Torq Thrust M's were Chinese made but is it true that "American" Racing is now making all of their wheels, etc, in China? Say it ain't so!

according to my contacts it is so. American Racing Wheels is now basically a distributor. I know they own Weld Wheels alos and I'm not sure if they are still making them or not....
Wow, I can't believe it. Guess I'll be looking elsewhere for an American made wheel.

That looks nice, the Anvil hood looks great on the second gens in my opinion, way better than a cowl hood does.

This is not a show car by any means.
It is a driver and thrasher.
If you see it on a trailer it is either broke or stolen.

The car looks awesome dude. I wasn't crazy about the murdered out look when I first read that you were gonna do that but DAMN you pulled it off. The car looks awesome. Now if I can find someone that wants to trade me their 70-73 Camaro for my 93 Saleen I'll be in business. Keep up the awesome mods on the car man.

I'm off the camaro now and just gonna drive it for awhile. I'm back on my old project to build a serious pro touring car......this one should turn heads and be a serious corner carver.

I’m very interested to see what you do with it. Are you painting the car? Painting over the CF? There’s a lot you can do here.
