I've been trying to decide a general theme for my 1970 Chevelle pro-touring project that I am just starting on let me know what you guys think.

The Plan
I thought it would be cool to combine my two passions Muscle Cars and Airplanes. One part 1970 Chevelle plus one part SR-71. That’s how I came up with the LSS-70.

The Execution
-LS1 Motor
-T-56 Trans
-New suspension/lowered a bit
-New wheels 17s or 18s black center polished lip
-Paint Gloss Black with Flat Black Stripe (For the stealthy look) w/red pinstriping outlining the stripe.
-Custom Interior will have cockpit like feel (I got the idea from G-force Cuda Interior)
-Make it super clean (No handles, drip rail, side marker lights, etc)
-Bumpers Chrome? or Black? Don’t Know

That’s the general Idea I just came up today. Any thoughts?

I attached a crude logo i made in Paint.

The stealth look sounds cool. I like a little bit of chrome myself. Maybe just chrome bumpers and window trim.
What type of suspension were you thinking of going with?
Air Ride? ATS spindle? Lots of good choices out there.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Well, you know what they say about those opinion thingys!

I am digging it. I really like the LSS tribue / update. I like you first logo, the thick letters play off the original SS letter well. The cockpit idea is cool, I have a cutomer doing the stealth fighter theme as we speak in a Camaro. Black and Black wheels is tough looking, just make sure there is some detail in the wheel so they do not become black holes at 20 feet. Those Chevelle's have huge wheel wells and can swallow 18s with 26" tires. 27 to 27 1/2" tires fill the gap much better. You may look to taller / bigger 19s or 20s for those big wheel openings. Chrome bumpers? How about black chrome!

I was gonna say the same thing. The diamond cut black Forgelines Frank so subtly suggested would also be nice.

Never even thought of black chrome. I'll have to look into that.

I've thought about air ride but it might be a little more than I need. This is going to be a daily driver hopefully someday.

Yea I've been looking at Forglines I like the HRE 843R Black rims too.

I've been trying to figure out a good suspension setup upgrade that won't break the bank. A lot of this is new to me.

I found this thread with a Camaro with the same idea. http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?p=959625

Suspension wise, A TVS Etreme kit with a set of Bilstien shocks, some tall spindles, and extreme steering kit. A ATS Steering box, Some A Arms. You will have a very good driving and handling ride.
