I am trying to put a chrome one wire alternator on my car. I have it installed and am trying to figure what wire I plug into the back of it? I used the large red wire and my car is running like crap! Do I cap all these wires and run a new wire to the battery???Will my idiot light stay on??

The brown wire griunds the idiot light so it should not come on with a 1 wire job.
The blue turns a 3 wire 'on'.
Which one is this, the '68 right? It charges directly to the horn relay and dhould be fine there. I hate 1 wire alts though, a 3 wire is much more efficient and a lot of places can chrome them for you.

it is a 67.. so I just use the red wire??Yes. But check it's condition. Also, if this is a higher amp (anything over 64 amp) then you may consider a 8-10 ga. wire replacement, preferrably 8 for those HOT FL days when electrical resistance climbs based on ambient temps alone, nevermind increased loads/demand from a higher amp setup.

I found out the Alternator I bought was convertible from a 1 wire to a 3 wire, just had to uncap a plug in the rear so it seems to be working great!
