Got an open ended question.
How does everyone find time for their projects? What's your schedule like?
I have a devil of a time finding time. Last night was a perfect example. By the time I got home from work, got some dinner, did a few household chores, all I had time for was cleaning out the diff carrier and cleaning the diff cover before
I was hoping to have it wire brushed and ready for paint. Looks like I'll need another 1-2 hours just for that.
At that rate the cars will never get done. Seems every project I think should take a couple of hours takes at least twice that. Maybe I've just gotten slower in my old age. :hmm:

I usually just make time myself. Its hard to do sometimes, but I eat a little later at night (between 7 and 9). Weekends are usually the best time for me, but even then I still like to relax some and do something with the gf.

Lately I've been skipping the gym twice a week, and using that time for the car instead.

Well, my schedule isn't bad; I'm a teacher and I'm home by 3PM most days. But, my wife works a few weekdays and every other weekend, and I have two young kids (5 and 2), so I don't have much time either! It took me a week to do a rear disc conversion on my Jeep, but if you add up the total number of hours spent, I could have done it in one day. Kinda tough when you only get 1-2 hours a day, including time to clean up. Just keep your head up, don't get overwhelmed, and it'll get done!

My garage is a few miles from my house and since I have small children and my wife has activities too I am bound to home sometimes.

I took home as many parts as possible to prepare them in the garden/shed, I could do this when the kids are sleeping or playing.
You will be amazed how much prep work you can do away from the car.

To get my project to the finish I spent the last year/year and a half at least 1 day in the weekend in the garage....I owe my wife for letting me!

almost there now....just the finishing touches....3 years work (and I already did a lot the first time I rebuild it.)

Very carefully. Sometimes rain is good - no little league, no yard chores....
