I found this car by accident while looking for frame boxing info doing a search on google. 1986 Grand Prix 2+2, Cadillac 6.2 VVT/6L80, C5 Z06 rear suspension etc...

We were talking about one of those a couple months back and it could make a cool ProTour car. I picture it flared like Michaels Monte.

Somebody should...I think that's only the second one i've seen out of stock form. There's another one online with stock paint, a big block and 5 or 6 speed, setup for road racing.

Now thats a G-Body you don't see everyday. I wouldn't mind adding one of those to the collection.

i've always thought the GPs looked a little weird... the fastback version looks worse... :scared:

As a G-body purist (so to speak), I needed a minute to fully grasp and appreciate the direction of that project. Now I get it. :)

thanks for posting that, i think thats going to be a bad hotrod, my parents have two of those 2+2's ones getting painted and the other one i think they intend on selling, wish i had the time and space but between the mcss and the malibu my hands are full.
if anyones looking for a 2+2 maybe we can find a good home for the other one.

Neat build. I wonder why they are using the Holden rear end.

i was wondering about that, too, but aren't C5/C6 rears transaxles, that is, with the transmission attached?

They didn't put the Corvette transaxle in the rear because that would mean loosing the rear seats. So they duplicated the control arm mounting locations on the frame and now they will install a center section. I am just surprised they are using the Holden rear. Hopefully it is stronger than the stock GTO rears. I would have gone with a Ford 8.8 IRS center section from a T-bird of 03-04 Cobra.
