It always amazes me how many nice 5 spoke wheels there can be. I like it. Are there any different finish options on it?

what about black anodized in the brushed finish?

its nice to see you guys paying attention to us. the only thing "missing" for me on this rim is rivets around the perimeter of the rim. (a faux three piece look)

But its hot, I'd buy it.

I'm planning on ordering a set in the next month or so for my chevelle. I really like the clean look of those wheels.

Black anodizing, or powdercoating (your choice) is an option on any style wheel. Flat black, gloss black, with brushed wheel lip, or polished, or ?
Let us know what combination you are after, and we can go from there.

I'm not being critical,Jon,but those kinda look like a five spoke Tiller wheel that someone out there already makes.

slight differences are all that separate many wheel stiles.

Hmmm, they remind me a bit of the Racing Harts but I dig them. Nice wheel. I'd definitely run it on the right car. :icon996:

Thank you for clarifying that for me... Jeez. Someone knew the wheel style, but not the manufacturer. That scares me.... :screwy:

Jon,there are probably 10,000 different wheels being made today. Sorry I couldn't name every one of them and who makes it.

Clint, you are right. Jon shouldn't have poked fun at you. Its an honest mistake.

Jon,there are probably 10,000 different wheels being made today. Sorry I couldn't name every one of them and who makes it.

Not to poke so much fun, but to honestly be a little concerned that a potential customer may know the name of a wheel per-say, but then may call a different manufacturer and get sold something that looks like a "tiller", but is a copy of our actual Tiller. This is why it really "scares" me from the manufacturer's point of view. So many of our wheels get knocked off. For example, a while back we were noticing a very increased number of center cap orders in full sets. We later found out it was because people were taking our center caps, altering them, and using them in an Eagle Alloy cast version of one of our wheels.

Sorry if you were offended by my reaction.

No offense taken,Jon. I've been a serious gearhead for almost half a century and really live the life of one.(it's a big part of my livelyhood, too) Still, there so many wheel variations out there,it's almost impossible to keep track of all of them. That's good for the consumer but probably tough for the manufacturers trying to keep up the pace.
IMO,wheels are the most important element of building a car. A primered project car can look very good with the right choice of wheels but a showcar will look crappy with the wrong ones.

I like them but I think you need to make a set to test fit on my car, just to be sure :)

Can you get the centers done in any colors like charcoal grey or anything??

Jon...Don't let Alan paint that 55 in the back of the shop..That car needs a new Chassis rolled under it and some Budnik wheels black anodized to look like black steel wheels. Awsome car.

It's a 5spoke. They are all pretty similar.
This one happens to be very tasteful, and quite elgant (simple + nice)

Reminds me of the Fikse fm5, but for those that don't light cigars with $100 bills :)

The Budnik Tiller's are not exactly inexpensive either, I've been looking at getting a set for my Grand national but it looks like I might have to go with 17's instead of 18's due to the huge price difference. It also says on budnik's web page that the Hammer's are supposed to be cheaper than the Tiller's, I wonder how much less? Also who had this design first Boyd Coddington or Budnik, cause if you look at BC's Timeless 2 in their signiture series they are almost identical. http://www.billetwheel.com/cgi/wheels.cgi?cmd=show_image&path=Signature_Series&img=8&tn=1

I see differences (narrower spoke, not flared at the end) and also the Timeless series used to be a cast wheel...but not sure any more.

Kevin,
If you do have pictures, please email them to us at
[email protected]
or [email protected]

We are always looking for pictures of cars with our newer design wheels to use on our website and in ads. If you are looking for pointers on how to shoot your car, take a look at the angles in our Photo Gallery portion of our website. There might be a free t-shirt or something along those lines thrown in if we do use your car in an ad.

Thanks,
Jon

Kevin where did you have them clear coated? R u happy with the clear coat? I was thinking about doing something along thoes same lines but i dont know many people who have CC on there wheels.

The rims are kewl looking, most of the "nice ones" are not for the budget minded builds($1200-$2000 for rims alone goes a long way to you seeing my taillights at the track).

That is why my wife's 95 Z-28 still has salad shooters on it, but she still pulls some good numbers anyway!

Zachatola - Budnik goes it. If you look at Jon's (from Budnik) second reply, he mentions some of the different options available. I don't believe most people would know they are clear coated unless they were told.

Are these Hammers available in 18x12? Also are they forged, I got that impression from the Budnik website.

Yes, they are available in 18X12.
Yes, we do clearcoat (ceramic based) direct from us.
And, yes, they are forged. T-6, 6061 billet aluminum. No cast wheels here.

I think that answers them all. Let me know if I can help with any other Q's.

It reminds me of the 3rd Gen Trans Am SLP wheels, cross bred with a FM5. It's different, and I kinda like it. (<----------Coming from a total HRE whore/TT2 hater.)

The '91/92 Firehawk wheel mentioned above- Obviously a 5 spoke, but very different in style to the Tiller and the Hammer.
