I have a rick's tank with an intank pump on my 73. Just running your basic edelbrock pro flo system.
Read on here that most people just plug the tank vent and use the vented gas cap that came with the tank, I was planning on just throwing a breather in the end of the hose and looping it up and over the axle.
Is there any problem with this? I don't want to try and use the charcoal canister.. at this point its something else to work on.. which I don't need. keeping it simple.

I am in the process of figuring our how to install mine again, after pitching it 20 years ago when I put in a tuned port motor in my cutlass. I smell strong gas in the garage, and my wife has complained about since '90 stinking up our house. I'm not sure about other approaches, but I'm going to try going back to stock.

your problem could be caused by fuel permeation. The only way to get rid of it is run hardline and/or teflon hose. Search teflon on nastyz28.com, thread started by member ultm8z.

You may need a two-way vent on your tank if you have a full return system. The caps are one-way vented. My solution is at the bottom of this page: http://john.my67.net/engine3.htm

Note that the breather is angled upward from the tank although the picture gives the illusion that it is angled down. This solution works fine for me.

awesome thanks.

I noted your comment too at the bottom about the 255 pump... I'm probably running too much pump since I'm running the same thing for a 400 hp sbc. the lines come close to the headers.
