just looking for a little help deciding on a fuel pump. the motor is a 496 BBC in a 69 camaro. i was thinking about using the A-1000, since i want to eventually run fuel injection. but i was also considering the holley HP150. anybody have any other pumps they could recomend and why? i will be running an 850 carb for now. any suggestions/info on the afore mentioned pumps would be great. i know the hp150 is supposed to be super quiet, and i believe its a bit cheaper than the a-1000. how loud is the 1000? any one have any issues with either of them? any recomendations? car will be mostly street driven, with the occasional track day...thanks....

I like the a1000. I used it on a smallblock blowthrew carb setup and works great. so i got another one for a new project on a 69 camaro big block blowthrew. as far as noise they sound a lot like a fuel pump in a newer mustang.

Just purchased an eliminator for a blown 355 SBC. Should allow plenty of head room. I wont hear it in the car over the blower whine so noise is not an issue. Setting up the sumped tank and installing it is.
Where on a 2nd Gen camaro do most people put them?
1) level with the rear leaf spring like this.

For a carb I've had good luck with Mallory 140s. Quiet also. They have a new EFI 110 not sure how many HP it wil actually feed. Mine is bolted to the floorboard kickup for the back seat in frant of the rear end.

I used a Carter pump to fire up my motor on the stand but it doesn't look like it will feed the motor especially under load (fuel pressure drops to 4psi). I think I am going to run a Barry Grant BG220H, you can check them out here:

Jegs sells them and they aren't too expensive on the wallet:
