I just bought a 1988 mustang lx, I know it doesn't really fit in with all of the kick arse cars on here, but it's something I've always wanted. I want to do a couple of little things to try and make my car stand out from the tons of other ones.

It's still wearing the original paint, which has started flaking off and rusting. None of the rust is deep, just surface rust. I'm going to strip it down and hopefully paint it, then put a 302 with a T-5 in it.

Here are some pictures.

Ive used a spot blaster gun on thing like that before on an 89 firebird formula I did. the hood should be taken down to bare metal and primed/surface coated, theres probably rock nicks in the hood anyway. sand and prime the plastic pieces together with a flex additive in the prime. sand and sealer the rest of the car.
If the paint is peeling I prefer to take it all the way to bare metal and start over, the rest just prep well and give it a surface sealer.
What color are you going?
