Hi folks, new to the board.

Working on a 64 B-Body Polara 500:

- kind of going the pro-touring route (though not nearly as extreme as most of you), with a few goodies:

16x7 and 16x8 wheels with 245/50r16 and 255/50r16s respectively. These will be housing 12.19" 4 piston Wilwoods up front and 11.25" TSMs in the rear. The rear is a 3.55 Suregrip unit.

Here is a pic after installing the rear - the old front end is still in the car with 15" wheels - no drivetrain at this point as well (so the front is a little high)...

Now for the good parts:

A Bill Reilly "AlterKtion" is ready to go in:

Hope he doesn't mind me linking from his site...

Also, just arrived:

And last but not least, the original 383 "freshened" up at the engine shop to 10.5:1 with some Eddy heads, an RPM intake with a Demon carb and TTI headers.

This car is kind of a company project. I work for a wholesale automobile auction in the northeast that recently celebrated it's 50th anniversary with Chrysler and we bought this car for a special event we had last year. It was for the most part original.

So, afterwards we decided we were going to make this thing a driver (it will never see the strip), and try to keep the body as original as possible. So far, everything we've done to the car can be reversed - with the exception of slightly elongating the shifter hole for the trans.

I've been lurking here for a while, it's nice that there's a board for this new trend in hot rodding.

Nice car, and welcome to the board. I love the variety we get here everyday, great to see new things up and comming, no matter what kind of build they are going through.

looks great. I'm a Ford guy, but I fell in love w/ the 64 Polara when I saw the
one that was on Barrett-Jackson Car Search. If you could get the car down
another 1-2", you'd have the stance nailed.

Yeah, that's the plan. The front should go down no problem with the adjustable coil-overs, however I'm still up in the air about what to do in the rear. I'm thinking maybe lowering blocks.

Too cool!!! I just love '62-'64 Dodge/Plymouths and have always wanted to see someone make a pro-touring version of one. Keep us updated with pics as well.
