I am looking for ideas for mounting my fuel cell I would like to keep it low in the trunk but I am open to anything there are no pans in my trunk right now just the sub frame rails so I can do just about anything. Here is what I have for a fuel cell and I also attached a pic of an idea I modeled up. One thing I was wondering about is should I have it incased in a sheet metal can or is it ok to mount like this?

For the record, that's not a fuel cell. It's a plastic box with a hole in the top. I wouldn't use it in any configuration but if you've hell bent on it, defenately put it in a steel sheet box.

That looks pretty good... Id use 1x2 rect. for the outer frame and 1x1
.080 ish tubing for the hold down as well as the underneath support a sheetmetal is a good idea

i agree ,Gotta have a sheetmetal box to set it into or just step up to a nice aluminum cell ...Pollished would look good too!

Or even better; a FULE CELL. Something that's made to contain flamable fluids during impact.
