I have a 67 camaro and I just bought a Ford 9" rear end. It's 51 inches from hub to hub. How do i figure if its too long or too short? i plan on putting 18x11 rims and 315/30/18 under the car. Help someone please.

Frank from Prodigy usually can answer your ?. Sounds pretty narrow to me. Unless maybe you have really small B.S. and a four link with more inward mounting. I searched rear width and the like to find a few helpfull #'s.

51" is going to be too small.with an 11" rim you will need to run around 3" of backspace for it to work right.that will be hard on your wheel bearings.
also if it wasn't setup for a chevy car, your pinion might be to far off to work right.usually when they make axles for a 9" in a chevy,1 axle is about 3" longer than the other.if you find the exact center of the housing, the pinion should be 1/2" off toward the drivers side(i believe) on a 9" setup for chevy.
