Hi, Im new to the site. I just bought a 64 Impala. I want to buy the Torque Thrush wheels for it. The problem is I don't know which size I want to go to. I see some with 14s,15s 16, on up. I have 2 new 225/60r/16s I could use for the front but I would like to go a little wider for the back like the old L60s. So any recommendations on the wheel size and tire size would really help. Thanks

You can fit some nice sized wheels and tires in there without any mods. I got rather smallish 17's and 18's on my '61 and there is plenty of room. 17x7 245/45 and 18x9 275/40. If I did it over, I would go at least 18 and 19 or even 19 and 20

I tried a set of 20's on my old 61' Bubbletop. IMO 18/20 combo at the minimum. More than likely if I was to do it again, I'd have gone 20/22.

Im also looking into getting torq thrust d wheels for my 65 impala ss. Im going for the old school look so im going with 15x7 up front with 235 60 15 bf goodrich and 15x8.5 in the rear with 255 60 15. If you like the traditional look i would go with the 15 inch. For custom wheels i would go 19x8 in front with a 245 35 19 and 19x10 in rear with a 285 35 19 or 20x10 with 285 35 20.
18/20 with the cast finish centers!
