I doubt it was a typo... this add was ALL over craigs list, in at least 5 different cites (two adds in each city)

Ususally deals like that are either a typo or as soon you talk to the owner, you find out that the car is now in New York if you are in California or now in CA if you are in NY and the poster will be happy to arraign shipping once you pay them in full...

I have a friend who recently got took on a similar deal. A panel truck street rod. Real convincing story about a health issue so he had to let it go cheap. $6800. They kept him dangling for a couple of months, saying it was on a transporter, the drivers mom died etc etc. It took him about three months to figure out he was screwed. And he is no dummy. Just got taken by people with a good story line and that seemed so genuine. This was on Ebay and he paid by cashiers check. No recourse.

That is why I don't think I would ever buy car remotely. If the deal was so good that I couldn't pass it up. I'd fly down and do the transaction and drive / rent a trailer and get the car to my area myself.
Too many scammers. :hand:
