Saw the Skyline GTR in Japan

While stuck over in Tokyo for work, I was able to go check out the new GTR in a Nissan Gallery and also saw 2 on the streets.

After seeing it in person, I am trying to find $70k to get one.

Exterior styling is very different and the car is stunning in person. It looks flat out evil. Interior is very simple and the way it should be, very supportive seats, kind of a retro feel to me.

Looking under the car is where you really start to appreciate it is a bargain. Lots of aero work underneath with huge carbon fiber panels.

Would be a fun daily driver!

that car is amazing. I think that it is the ultimate bang for the buck now in the super car world. I can't wait till they put it head to head with the ZR1. I'd be interested in seeing those numbers!

They had one in Detroit back in January. Honestly it was the only Japanese car that got my undivided
attention. My hats off to them...the car is beautiful.

The GTR is absolutely stunning i read a nice article on it in my super street or import tuner magazine before my subscription ran out. It will definitely be a head turner and a contender on the street.

It would be cool if they make a GT1 class car to compete against C6-R in AMLS.

It already has beaten the Porsche 911Turbo in several tests. When I 1st posted info about this car, people said it was ugly. I think the tide is starting to turn.

By the way, dogsbody, good luck to Cardiff against Pompey in the FA Cup Final. Portsmouth are lucky to be there anyway.

I like the rear ends nod to the R3Xs, but not too keen on the front lights....it's definitely evil looking though.

The times round nurburgring seem too good to be true. It does make me a little suspicious over how secretive they are with everything.

I wouldn't trust nissan marketing TBH, but there is no doubt it's one if not THE fastest sub 100k cars out there.

I read an article in Car and Driver where they actually tested the US version of the car. In the article they reported rumors that in Japan the cars are putting out 480HP, to the wheels! Stock! It wouldn't surprise me! C'mon, a twin turbo V6? Sounds very reasonable. Oh yeah, and something like 3.3 seconds to 60mph and the 1/4 in 11.5 @ 124mph. Not bad for 3900 pounds!

I am really interested to see this car in person and am seriously considering it as a purchase in the second year of production. It is the first car to make me consider overlooking it's design flaws just for the amazing drivetrain(new M5 was close but it is a sedan). It would be the perfect car for driving to the track, thrashing it all day, killing the competition and then driving home. This car is amazing. Go read the article in EVO magazine where it beats the R8 on the road and the GT3 and Z06 on the track. It was a real eye opener on how good this car is.
