I was at an LMSCC Auto-x today and The Gulf (Ultimate) Camaro was on site making its virgin runs.

Paul from Goodies Speed Shop (http://www.goodies-speedshop.com/2007/index.html) brought it down and was shaking the car down a bit. Not really running for time, but the car is VERY fast and even in baseline form handles extremely well. Its been a long time coming, but it looks like this monster is set to take over the west coast SCCA

The engine is 309cid with ~550HP
the car weighs in at 2750

They are coming - those are just a couple I took with my phone. There were a couple of guys with hi-res camera's that got action shots and such.

We were at a secure site (Lockheed Martin facility) so unregulated Camera's are a no-no there.

I got the chance to get very close to that car last year when I was working with Paul at his other place (Dyno West). The car is sicko, by far one of my very favorite cars, and the thought of it makes me wonder why I would ever consider building a street car. He did an oustanding job on it, one of the very nicest race cars I have ever seen. If you see him, tell him congrat's on the shakedown runs, it has been a really long project for him, I hope he was smiling from ear to ear.

Soften up the suspension a bit.
Put an LS2 in it.
Put some headlights on.
Enter it in the 25hrs of Thunderhill.

Laugh like maniacs for 25hrs.

I still can't figure out those headers. Are they 180 degree headers like on the GT40s or what? They look all twisted up in there - absolutely wicked lookin. I love the look! ANd I'm sure the performance would be nirvana meets asphalt. Would love to see and learn more of that car.

the exhaust is insane. Last time I saw it, it goes up around and into the interior. I believe TonyH will have info and pictures on his blog page.

Did you say Buttonwillow Steve??

The headers go behind the motor and through the firewall on the PS. The exhaust actually exits through the PS door (no ride-alongs in this car).
If you look at the PS of the car 2" below the "6" you can see the portholes for the exhaust.
The car is too low for the headers/exhaust to exit the bottom.

It's been awhile, but I want to say the tires are 12.5"x24"x16" They are Goodyear Roadracing slicks (non-DOT)
The wheels are 12.5x16"

been reading and thought I would answer some Q's about the carI built. The wheels are Bogart 16x12 on all four corners with goodyear bias roadrace tires, 25x13x16 front and 27x14x16 rear. the engine is not set back at all (CP rules) it may look that way because the firewall is so altered.

I would have to say that I approve. If I were to ever rae in American Sedan or American Iron, this woul dhave to be my color choice, cause I;d just have to have a matching pair.
