Here are some pics of my '65 after a quick bath yesterday. It has been in about this same condition (midway through final assembly) for about a year while I sorted out various front suspension issues. I think the stance is just about nailed, but I'm afraid it's going to have to come apart at least one more time. We'll see. Anyway, hope you enjoy the pics.

As a kid I vividly remember my friends brother. He had just picked up his '65 Goat.
Driving on a 30 mph street and coming out of L shaped corner after a sun shower, he got on it a little too much and spun completely around right in front of us playing football in the road. As an 8 year old that '65 made a big impression.
So I like seeing what you are doing to your '65. Looking forward to your ride and drive impressions when you're done. I really like the redline tires also.

PT Goat, your car looks awesome!
Being a Pontiac guy it seems you have selcted some very nice components for the build. How long have you been working on this?

I bought the car in April of 2003, and it was originally a 6cyl/auto on the column Tempest. White with a blue interior. I originally wanted a sleeper, so I filled every emblem hole and painted it Mayfair Maize. I also swapped in a black GTO interior. At the same time I installed a pretty built 400/4spd and did a basic suspension rebuild. Eventually I decided to clone it into a GTO and I took it on one cruise - July 4, 2004. Then I got the bug for a tripower. Then I ordered a TKO600, and a short time later found a 421 block, and once the ball got rolling I couldn't stop. I blew it apart in April of 2005 and that's when the PT thing really got going.

Reminds me of the famous Royal Pontiac 421 GTO 'Bobcats'.
Great styling front and rear on the '65's IMHO.

Actually that's the theme I was going for with the 421. Those are royal bobcat decals on the rear pillars.

Then you'll enjoy this article if you haven't seen it already about 1 of 11 GTO 'Bobcats' made with a tri-power 421 in '65.

Interesting that you'd post that article. I have about 5 copies of the orignal 8/2004 Hemmings Muscle Machines edition that the Bobcat story ran in. On page 36 of that particular mag, there is a story titled "Don't Get Ripped Off," to which my father contributed. Our office handled the litigation concerning the Viper pictured in the article.

Matt, Interesting about the litigation article. I'd be interested in reading it if there is a link you can send me.
Back to your GTO project. Years ago I bought a quick ratio steering box from a place called The Goat Farm. In your parts travels, have you run across them?

Yep - that's them. It was tough getting the roller rockers to fit under them but I managed with 5/16" gaskets and some grinding. They are a little hard to keep clean, but they are great looking covers.
