Thanks! It's hard for me to imagine them installed. I figure the investment is not much, and can always sell them for what I paid. I'll look for some used tires (my buddy works at a tire shop and may come across a set)
Anyone have any paint/photoshop skills that can paint in some tires? I've tried and it drove me nuts!

Surprisingly, they seem to match well. I just wish newer cars had the deep rear lip on them, the flat face wheel always bothered me on my previous C6.
Hey, recycle some of that cardboard, don't use the car as a shelf. lol

I know what you mean about the flat face....oh well.
Cardboard is going in the trash this week. I'm remodeling the kitchen, hence all the junk in the garage. Poor car won't see the road for 2 months.

bochnak,
Here are some pics. It's dark outside and snowing so for now this is the best I could do. The front is lowered 2", the rear 1". The rear wheels and tires are 18x9.5 c5 with 275/40/18. I need to do a little work to fit the 19x10's with 285/35/19.

Actually, they're 17x8's with 0" offset. They were made by SLP for a few years, but I believe they're discontinued now. I really wish they came in a wider size, but it's nice not having to shell out the $$ for adapters too.
And, ALLKAR did a killer chop there; really gives you an idea of how awesome those C6 wheels will look on the Chevelle! Good luck!

Wheels:
18x8.5 front and 19x10 rear wheels
Tires (stock vette run flats):
front 245/40/18 rear 285/35/19
I measured the BS with a straight edge:
Front: 7" so I went with a 2" adapter
Rear: 8.56" so I went with a 3" adapter (a 2.5" would have worked as well)

With a 3" adapter in the rear, I have about 1/2" clearance between tire and "stock untrimmed" fender lip. It's actually a little tighter on the RR. Anyway, I winged it around some turns with NO rubbing.
BTW, my rear suspension is all original stock except for 175lb springs, including non boxed lowers. I plan to attack that next.

OK, I do have rubbing on the RR. The tire to fender clearance on the LR is over 1/2", where it is less than 1/4" on the RR.
I know this is a fairly common problem, and all my rear suspension is original and non boxed lowers. My body mounts are original as well.
I won't worry about this until I have all the bushings replaced, and see where it sits.
BTW, A 2.75" adapter would have worked perfect.

Yes, I have also considered that seller.
I agree with custom orders costing big $$$$.
One thing to consider when buying these adapters is the OD. I haven't measured what mine is, but it could be a bit larger to fully accept the mating surface of the wheel. I would say it could be a 1/8" or 1/4" larger in DIA.

used a drop version of the 21st century sub frame. Front rocker height is 6 inches and rear is 7.

Sidewall is stiff...but you are going to dig the way your car drives and you will not need to carry a spare. The crisp lines on the rims pick up the crisp body lines of the Chevelle really well.

I used 2" in the front w/no issues.
In the rear I had to use longer studs, 7/16" spacer, then a 3" adapter and everything is fine.
I got this idea from a guy in Miami who used these rims on a 69 camaro...500 hp and he beats the heck out of it w/no issues!!!
My car is a cruiser so I don't anticipate any issues.

I ordered the 2.5" adapters yesterday. I'll post feedback on fitment. It will be on the road beginning of April or when salt gets washed away, which ever comes first.

I mounted the rears with 2.5” adapters. Fitment is much better. Previously, with 3”, BS was 5.5”, with 2.5”, BS is 6.0”.
There is one area on the LH inner wheel well with about a 5/16” clearance. I hope it does not rub in this area. If it does, I can persuade the sheet metal a bit. Also, when I upgrade to discs, it will add about .200” to the track width per side.
I’ll be able to test drive in a few weeks.

Hello,
I just posted a question about what size of rim will fit under a stock rear tub. If you have any addition info I would appreciate it. I was looking at a 19x12 rear and 18x10 etc front. was looking to go with the low and mean look, but am now thinking that I would have to run mini tubs.
Sorry forgot to mention I have a 72SS Chevelle, thanks

Gashed my tire due to some sheet metal pointing toward the tire. I massaged it with a hammer. This area was near the tailpipe.
I have no rubbing at all and adapters are 2"/2.5" F/R.
I love the ride. Definitely a bit firmer, but the low profile helps cornering much better.
