ok ive posted a few topics on this subject but i want to hear what people have to say that have cars that are black ok let me clarify have cars that they drive and drive often.. do you regret going black. how long was it before it started showing blemishes . and did you go metalic or just straight black.. i really want my camaro black but am being talked out of it by everyone . i work at a bodyshop and no one wants to agree that black would look the best but me...what to do..i need to have my color decided within the next few weeks...

imo there is nothing sweeter looking than a black car, I want to paint everything I own black. they are a bitch to keep clean though.
I say paint it black, everytime you get done cleaning the car and stand back and look at it you will say "oh yeah....thats why I painted it black"

I love black, have 2 daily drivers black, the Lexus and the Caddy. It does take longer to wash them, but that's because I want to make sure I am washing them with dirty rags, take a couple extra steps when you wash and black is great! I only went with RED for my Camaro becuase I hae always wanted a bright colored Camaro, now that I don't drive it daily it made sense...
Also if its not a daily driver get a good car cover for it, so when it sits there isn't a lot of dust and debris that can sit on it... I have heard horror stories about those California Car duster's and an uncovered car dragging the devris across the paint....

Go black!!! I've had 2 modern cars that were black and they looked great. I think paint brand might have a part in this as well. My '90 audi was 8 years old when i sold it and it looked great except for some checking in the paint above the rear window. I think that may have been caused by living in Phoenix with no shade to park it in. My '93 600SEL was 13 years old when I sold it and it still looked like fresh paint. I did take VERY good care of the paint on that car though. The paint brand on that car was Glasurit(sp?). I think that had a lot to do with it. I'm pretty sure Mercedes has used that brand forever.
Good luck with paint! It'll look great.

I wouldn't get a black daily driver, but on a fun car that you love to look at as much as you love to drive... black is awesome. Yeah, it is a pain to keep clean, but nothing looks better than black when it is clean.

Black is fine, as long as you keep it to a smaller ride, like a camaro. I have a raised black silverado and it's a huuuuuuuge PITA to keep clean.
