Hi All,
As promised, some pics of the 6L90E conversion I am doing in a 68 Camaro...apologies if these are a little low res....there will be more to come. This was the second trial fit when the tunnel was sectioned. Working on a third and final trial fit now to finalise rear x member, tunnel sheet metal requirements etc,and will have more pics showing the underside and pan clearance.
This LSX conversion started out as a 6Litre and 4L65E...then...as projects do, considering I wanted to do a 6L80/90 originally, but too unknown on the how and the $, the scope creep started and it is heading towards LS7 and 6L90E. It was John Spears write up on his LS2/6L80 truck conversion that did it. Started talking to Speartech re the 4L65 and it went from there. He knows his stuff on the electronics backwards. He took the "unknown" on the how away.
Ready to slide in...
23088
From the rear...it sits higher than this once the tunnel is opened...
23089
This is sitting a little higher than the optimum position..
23090
This is sitting at around the optimum position heightwise...
23091
Looking along the trans toward the engine bay..
23092
Comparison from above with 4L65..
23093
Comparison from behind with 4L65 with input and output shafts set at the same centreline height..
23094
More to come.
Cheers. I.
