You saw that's Nurburg ?

It's running Victorian (a state in Australia where I live) licence plate....

I agree that thing looks mean....makes me want to drive out to the test grounds to see it in the flesh....(I wish)

holy frikkin awesome. I cannot wait for mine. I'll go broke paying for gas, but I don't care.

Im go glad to see that the big rims will be available. I've seen the smaller ones and was disappointed. But those look just like the concept car. Cool.

These are probably upgraded SS or Z28 wheels I'm guessing. The smaller wheels will probably go on the standard V6 or maybe 4 cylinder vrsion

How else are you going to get 4 R-compound tires, a jack and your cooler to the auto-x?

I hate to rain on the parade here espcially being a chevy nut but..........the front is just too pointy and it just isn't retro enough.Ford got it right,Dodge got it right ,chevy should have bought one of Chris Horton's renderings .I'm sure it will be a great car just not a pretty one.

I really liked the initial pics from the shows but that looks different to me. Maybe its the ricer headlights? I also think the tail lights look odd and I bet you could save 100 pounds by ditching that factory exhaust! Holy smokes those mufflers look big! Either way...Im glad to see the Camaro coming back!

Man it may just be that the cost of gas has affected my thinking (it's rapidly approaching $4 a gallon here in CA), but that car looks more bloated and less inspired every time I see it.

15mpg city, priced at a premium to the Mustang, curb weight approaching 2 tons, etc.

When I first heard about this car several years ago, I was thrilled to see that GM was getting back in the rwd performance game, but now that it's almost here, my excitement's dimmed.

I used to not understand the guys that had a weekend car instead of just driving their hotrod every day, but with gas prices the way they are, I think the weekend car may be the better plan, given that I live in L.A. and can't even get the city mpg per tank.

What are you basing your mpg rating on?

Oh for...

THOSE ARE NOT THE HEADLIGHTS THE CAR WILL COME WITH!!!

They're just slapped onto the TEST car temporarily.

What are you basing your mpg rating on?

The Pontiac G8, which is basically the same car in terms of zeta based architecture, weight, engine, etc., give or take a few doors and a few pounds. (You can argue about how different the cars are, but it's unlikely the mileage will differ much.)

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/findacar.htm

15mpg city, 24 mpg highway.

15mpg city, 24 mpg highway.

That's not terrible mileage. I looked up my 2003 Mustang GT and it is only rated at 16/23 mpg on fueleconomy.gov, that's with a smaller engine too. The highest highway mileage I've had is 27.2 mpg highway, so the ratings may be conservative. Combined driving usually was 23-24 mpg. The Camaro may get a little better. The looks still haven't grown on me yet, though. At least they are making a Camaro again (fingers crossed).

I got your back 73Z... I try to like it, really I do, but... Too many squared off edges/angles for me...

I guess GM will be marketing it as the new F(117)-body :screwy:

Im not on you for dissenting. Just implying that those headlights matter at all. They are only on the car for testing purposes, they wont be on the production car.

I wasnt aware that those are only for testing. (Headlights) The new Corvette has the projector lights so I expected that they might be on the new Camaro too. I dont like them on the Vette either!

:P

For the record, I don't like the projectors on the vette either. There's been a huge outcry on the net for the test cars sporting those headlights, as well as the unfinished tailpipes sticking out, and the dash looking shoddy.

The camaro's supervisor SWEARS all this will be fixed on the production car.

http://www.cars-on-line.com/35822.htmlYep that would get me over it . Or maybe someone will come out with an after market retro nose! I'm also glad it's comming back . Hey it can be tweeked over the years. Hopefully it will last longer than the GTO did .

I kinda' wish they'd change the tailights a little.
And refine the front-end ever so slightly.

The car looks awesome,
Just a little to much like a Cadillac CTS.
Not that there's anything wrong with a CTS.
It's just that one of those cars in the GM family is enough.

They will change the tailights because GM sources have said that those aren't final production versions.

Yeah it is Nurburg alright. And yes it is one of the cars that was testing in Australia (thus the Vic plates).

When I say the pics I was not wowed! In fact I dont like it.

My first impression was I don't like it black. Second was it looks like the CTS. Something looks different than the orange convertable I saw on power tour, which I liked, actually it looks like a different car.

Is it just me or does it look "under tired"?? Maybe its cause its so thick but the tires look really narrow...

Yeah, I'm a jackass. I looked up the mileage on the Subaru WRX STI, and it gets 17/23mpg from a FOUR cylinder engine. (A 300+hp 4, but still a four cylinder). Looks like performance and mpg are diametrically opposed, which I knew, but $4 gas makes that reality ever less pleasant.
