Yesterday my buddy told me he may want to buy my 1 7/8"x 3 1/2" Super Comps off my 73' Nova and use them for his 427SB and that hes been finding out that theyll fit in his 79 mustang w/ SBC conversion. So im thinking it would be a good time to get a header that is more in the ball park for what im doing. Ive got a few options i think I could go with and I wanted to see some opinions on fit, ground clearance, quality, and sizing. So here are the ones im thinking about. Again this is going in a 73' Nova with a 5 speed and no options or obsticles to get the headers around other than the Z-bar

-Dougs 1 3/4" primary PN#D368
-Muscle Maxxx step header 1-3/4"-1-7/8" primary PN#912301
-Muscle Maxxx step header 1-5/8"-1-3/4" primary PN#912201
-Hooker 1-3/4" primary PN# 2131

Im running an 11:1 SBC 350, 200cc Racerites, 258/[email protected] .562/.562 solid FT cam, 750 mighty demon Team G, Richmond 5 speed and 3.89's. I think im going to set this car up to run through a 3" X pipe system because im tired of the 30 minutes it takes to drop my exaust at the track and the 30 minutes it takes to put it back on before I drive home. I might be building a 383" or 410" motor in the near future so I dont want to get stuck with too small a header, i guess a little too big is the way I want to go just for future builds. Any suggestions, comments, expierence with these headers will be appreciated.....thanks!

I just read this thread. I've got a 68 Camaro, Called just about every header manufacturer everywhere, since I'm using angle plug heads it seems that Hooker had the only set that would fit ( and be full length headers). I bought the 2131 headers and they seem to fit ok until I put the right side on and the inner tie rod end hits the header tube, and not just by a little it hits to the tune of about half the diameter of the tube.
