I wanted to drop a line in here to everyone who I told that I would be at the Year One Experience with Flyin' Blind.
Flyin' Blind will be there, but I will have to leave the first showing of her in public to Frank, Lisa, Michael and my Dad and Brother. I was just called yesterday and asked if I could help with a short (approx 100 day) project in Afghanistan, this will be trip #6 to that sandy, hot part of the world. Yes I just came back from there in late August (made it home for football season!) and now I'm headed back again. In the end it was my decision to go, so technically I did volunteer. The bad part is that I will be missing a few key events, for one I am missing my youngest's birthday for the second year in a row (and she's only 4), and of course I will miss Flyin' Blind being unveiled to the public... I hope you all will stop by at the Year One Experience and say hi to my Dad and Brother, they are both ex-Navy, and my Dad has another son in Iraq right now, (also Navy) and another son at on shore duty in Mississippi (also Navy) and both a son and daughter in the Marine Corps, so he is a little frazzled I am sure, with 5 of his 8 kids currently in either the US Navy or the USMC. I figured taking Flyin' Blind for her maiden journey might do him some good. Hell, I hope he gets some track time in her!
For all of you who I was supposed to meet there, I hope we can meet up at another show or track day or maybe Power Tour. I will look forward to coming home to my youngsters, my wife (who puts up with me and my addiction to this car) and my Camaro, which I am counting on (and have full trust and confidence in) Frank and his crew at Prodigy. Thanks everyone for the support this far, I will look forward to a few cold beers when I get back.
Regards, George
P.S. - Hey Frank, if you could post pics of the progress I will check as often as I can, it will keep me motivated to see the progress!
