I wanted to drop a line in here to everyone who I told that I would be at the Year One Experience with Flyin' Blind.

Flyin' Blind will be there, but I will have to leave the first showing of her in public to Frank, Lisa, Michael and my Dad and Brother. I was just called yesterday and asked if I could help with a short (approx 100 day) project in Afghanistan, this will be trip #6 to that sandy, hot part of the world. Yes I just came back from there in late August (made it home for football season!) and now I'm headed back again. In the end it was my decision to go, so technically I did volunteer. The bad part is that I will be missing a few key events, for one I am missing my youngest's birthday for the second year in a row (and she's only 4), and of course I will miss Flyin' Blind being unveiled to the public... I hope you all will stop by at the Year One Experience and say hi to my Dad and Brother, they are both ex-Navy, and my Dad has another son in Iraq right now, (also Navy) and another son at on shore duty in Mississippi (also Navy) and both a son and daughter in the Marine Corps, so he is a little frazzled I am sure, with 5 of his 8 kids currently in either the US Navy or the USMC. I figured taking Flyin' Blind for her maiden journey might do him some good. Hell, I hope he gets some track time in her!

For all of you who I was supposed to meet there, I hope we can meet up at another show or track day or maybe Power Tour. I will look forward to coming home to my youngsters, my wife (who puts up with me and my addiction to this car) and my Camaro, which I am counting on (and have full trust and confidence in) Frank and his crew at Prodigy. Thanks everyone for the support this far, I will look forward to a few cold beers when I get back.

Regards, George

P.S. - Hey Frank, if you could post pics of the progress I will check as often as I can, it will keep me motivated to see the progress!

To say I was shocked when you called with the news would be a understatment. After all our grand planning last week, it was a surprise. But you have to do what you have to do.

So be safe, your baby (Project Flying Blind) is safe in our hands. And we will post for all to see. We sold the Prodigy Vette last week, so I have a empty slot in my garage!

Thanks Frank, I feel confident you guys will make me both anxious to get back and very happy when I see what is here waiting for me! Just be sure to post as many progress pics as you can to keep everyone on here up to date (including me, I will check as often as I can while I am forward).

Thanks to everyone for your words of support, rest assured I will give them as much hell as I can in three short months. This is, thankfully, a short trip, and I tip my hat to those who are serving the 9-15 month tours.

I've figured that the top brass had figured out that they can only keep me in country for up to 6 months at a time, otherwise I start to slowly forget the rules of engagement and enemy casualty rates skyrocket (haha kidding).

Luckily I am scheduled to be back with lots of Summer weather left to take advantage of for cruising, track time and shows so I hope to see everyone who lives between North Carolina and Rhode Island around the July timeframe!
