have a sinus infection? It all started for me about 2 weeks ago with a flu. Man, did my head hurt. It felt like somone pounded my head with a sledghammer and feels like I got punched in the eye and the pain didn't go away.
It passed away for a little while, with less pain, I assumed it would eventually go away. NO LUCK!!! It woke me up from a dead sleep 4 AM this morning. NOT FUN!!!:confused:
Went to the doctor's today and she prescribed Nasonex and Amoxicillin.
She said these should help. Well, here's the road to recovery.:bananna2::bananna2:

I know how you feel... Last year, i got 2 sinus infections and had strepthroat 3 times over a span of a few months. My tonsils stayed swolen for about 6 months and I finally convinced my doctor that I needed to get them out (of course they gave me the run around for a few months). Finally got them out last spring.... I was 20 and had to get my tonsils and adnoids taken out....

Hope you feel better!

I am not normally allergic but when I went to Florida last year with a buddy to check out the Barrett jackson event I got hit with something that sounds like what you described.

I was OUT OF COMMISSION. Didn't want to leave the hotel. I was like....DAMN. WTF. I had no idea what was going on but it was their tree pollen season.

I got some behind the counter Claritan stuff and it worked well enough. :)

Good luck!

A doctor friend of mine gave me some advice for sinus infections. He had me mix 1/4 teaspoon of salt with 1/8 teaspoon of baking powder into 2 cups of warm water. Use a nasal aspirator (in the infant section of grocery stores) to suck up the water and squirt it into your nose twice a day when you have an infection. It isn't the most pleasant thing, but it cleans it out before it gets worse. No prescriptions or OTC meds do better.

My wife bought some kind of kit for washing out your nose/nasal cavities, she mixes some salt with water & squirts it up in her nose. Now this is not a little mist, this is a stream of water, around 4 - 6 ounces. I have tried it & I feel like I am drowning. I don't see the advantage, but she says she does.
