Back in the end of November we had a thread going about the feature of Larry's Camaro in the 1/05 issue of Super Chevy. The comments were about the fact that the pictures in that article did not show the sides of the car. ZZ Top was going to post some additional pictures but the thread died. I would really like to see the stance on the car since it has 27" tall tires on 18" wheels. I'm interested in how much tire is in the top of the wheelwell and how low the car is. Can anybody help with some pictures? Thanks in advance. Jack

These were taken at the Fred Gibb Memorial a couple of years ago.

Thanks alot guys - that 2nd shot BillyBob71 was what I was looking for. Looks like you guys have seen this thing in person - if you have - seems pretty low (about 12 - 13 inches from the front spindle center line to the wheel opening) for those 27 inch tall front tires to clear the inner fender. Does it appear to be driveable at that height with that tall of a tire? I thank you both for the pictures. Jack

Great car. The rear tires look 27" but the front tires are probably shorter than that.

I saw it at the Power tour Tulsa stop. Very nice car.

If the magazine stats are correct it is suppose to have Michelin Pilot Sports on it. Fronts are 255/45-18s on 18x8s (26.9 tall) Rears are 345/35-18s on 18x12s (27.4). Thats about the tallest front tire we have seen anybody use on a 1st gen Camaro. I like 18s but also like the idea of a little more sidewall. I was considering a 225/45 or 235/45 18 on an 18x8 for the front and either a 255/45-18 on a 18x9.5 or a 275/40-18 on a 18x9 in the rear. I would like my 69 at least that low but really don't want alot of rubbing. We had a thread going awhile back that said a 4" sidewall or taller is better for handling and lets face it alot better for real world driving rim life. That is why I was looking for a side shot. I really like the way Rich Downing's 69 sits but that has 285/35s in the rear and you guys that are running 35 series seem to feel they ride real hard. So my thought was a little more sidewall would help. Thanks - Jack
