Hey gang!

Just wanted to join in and see what's gonig on. I'm taking the sweet LT1/4L60E combo from my 96 Caprice and putting it in my 69 Nova.

The Nova is a grandma-fresh barn find. It had a straight 6 and PG that is now missing. :naughty:

Now I'm right in the middle of my front suspension upgrade. Pulled off the front clip/subframe and cleaned everything up, now I'm putting on the Hotchkis TVS package, Speed Tech control arms, blah blah, go fast corner awesome stuff. :git:

Caprice:

Craigslist! I was hoping it wasn't gone before I showed up.:fingersx: I just about fell over when I found out it was a grandma car kept in a barn with 71K original on the clock. $3k later and it was on a trailer going home with me.

I even got the 6 banger running with fresh gas and points and cap. Sold it with the PG on CL for $500.

What's wrong with being a redneck? :hammer:

All the panels I've taken off get covered in bubble wrap. I'm taking no chances for damage while in storage. You want more pics? Here ya go! This is how it looked rolling it out of the barn and just hosing it off. Still dirty, but looks a lot better than 99% of the barn finds out there.

Damn, that's gonna be a nice budget-friendly bruiser! Good score on the car, and the LT1 is gonna make that lightweight Nova move!

What's really going to make it move is the Edelbrock LT4 conversion kit I'm putting on it. Buahahahah!!! :drive2:

Man, that is awesome!

If I were you I'd put on a quiet exhaust, not paint it and use stock, or low key wheels (maybe some custom-wider-steels that use the stock caps). People will never know what hit them!

I thought about going with the sleeper route and keep the old school dog dish hub caps with steelies (wider, 16")... but I'm a sucker for big wheels. I'm going to put Foose Nitrous II's on there. 17s up front, 18s in the rear. Should look good with the 2" drop from the Hotchkis TVS kit, and the SSBC Force 10 brake package. :headbang:

For now, I'm going to polish the original paint and see how it looks when I'm all done. It should get me by until I can afford a nice paint job.

Wow that looked soo much like the car we found for our project. Blue paint with a 6 banger. I like the idea for your project, keep us updated.
