Since I've talked with Jonny about this pretty extensively, he wants a 427ci, or similar engine, so by the time he gets all the LSX stuff, he's up there in price pretty high.

An LS1 block will run you $2600 from MTI for a 4.125" Darton sleeved block, plus another $150 to have the cylinders finished.

What did you do as far as manifolds for your turbo set up?
The problem I found with the LS1's is the blocks are cheap but everything else is expensive.I am open to any suggestions. :geek:

I've been lusting for an aluminum block myself. Surprisingly, what I find most attractive about some of them isn't the lighter weight but the higher deck heights that are available (9.5" vs stock 9") and the raised cam option with BBC bearings. The Dart blocks are nice, and Brodix makes a nice block too. Both of these blocks are designed for durability and big horsepower.
The resleaved LS1 blocks sound like a good deal, but just how much power and abuse can they handle?

Kenova I am pretty sure Scott (xcyz) has a dart iron eagle block with all the mods you want.I think they run abut 1800 alot better than 3800.

I've heard the Brodix blocks have a few better options then the Dart.

Go over to LS1tech.com and read about way to may dropped sleaved LS-1 blocks. Not worth the risk, IMO.

CN Blocks make a nice alum. small block. Raised cam, deck heights to 10.00", BBC cam journals, splayed caps. Very trick. Not very cheap.

Thanks Mark for the tips.I have decided to not go the LS1 way.Although the blocks are cheap the rest of the parts are much more than the regular SBC.I have also heard to stay with a stock bore because of reliabilty on the LS blocks.

GT those are some trick blocks but damn 6k!!! :jawdrop:
