I need help on wheel fitment as well. My challenge is I don't have the front clip on my car yet, and need to order wheels/tires asap so I can roll this thing around the body shop. Its an 87 GN with AFX spindles in front, and C6 Z06 brakes all the way around. I have Global west UCA's (offset for B-body spindle), stock lowers, and Eibach drop springs on all 4 corners. I'm trying to buy a 18" wheel to fit these monster brakes (it'll be a 3 piece). As a reference Simmons F-series 18" will not fit. (rim hardware hits the calipers) Wanting to run a 245/40/18 in the front and a 295/35/18 rear. I will go 285 in the rear if needed, but Im lookin at that 295/35/18 BFG drag radial :) I have the rear fenderwell rolled. Is ANYONE running the AFX / C6 Z06 combo on a G-body yet????? Please, someone????

Any help is appreciated... :bananna2:

give jon at driverzinc a call. he should be able to help with the spacings you need. the z06 stuff shouldnt matter other than the necessary clearance for the thickness of the caliper. the template can be found on kore3's site. im going the same route with the brakes. good luck

The ZO6 caliper is going to be a hurdle, Your going to need a wheels specifically to clear those calipers. Forgeline can make a 3 piece wheel to clear these. We have done plenty of G Bodies, I can figure out the backspace.

What wheel are you looking for?

If I were to do a Forgeline I'd probably go with a SP3P. Id be interested in pricing on those in a 18x8.5 and 18x9.5. Might as well give pricing on tires too. 295/35/18 drag radials, and something decent for the front in a 245/40/18.

Do I have any other options besides Forgeline? I could have made the simmons wheels work with a small spacer, but I hate spacers so i sold em...

Frank, Do you have any pics of the other G-bodys you've done? I'd love to see them!

Thanks in advance for the help!

We can make any of our three piece wheels fit as well. Take a look and if you like a style and would like a price quote let me know.

This the only one I can find a picture of that is finished, and it does not exactly count as it is "slightly" modified!
I have some pictures of a GN somewhere. Also Bill may poast some pictures of his Malibu, it had ATS spindles on it, but with C5 brakes

Later in the week I will have some pictures of the Monte Carlo in Version 2 form.

gino - i just bought my calipers and i was worried about the same thing, especially since you brought it up again. in talking with jon at driverzinc yesterday, the pad will be built to allow the wheel to fit. nothing else needs to be changed. since we need 1.69" of caliper offset clearance, it will make the wheel appear to have tons of backspacing. but, this is the only negative of those calipers.

I really like the look of the Forgelines, but my budget is $4k for wheels/tires. Is anyone here a CCW or Iforged dealer? I found some designs on those I like too.

Nine Ball is an iForged dealer on this forum. Not certain if there are others.

I got AFX spindles for 87 olds, it not on yet, but I was thinking about getting these wheels. ROH Drift-R form Group A wheels. The size on all four 18x9 with 275/35/18 and price would be around 1078.00 That with tax.

James,
Thats a great wheel for the money, but they won't clear the Z06 calipers. Plus, in order to use those on a G-body, you need to use a 1" spacer. Not a big deal but I'm trying to stay away from spacers. They should look great on your white olds, though! sharp car!
