Jim-

Great looking stuff. I feel honored that I was able to provide you with so many exceptional parts for such a great friend and project. I cannot wait to see your face when you drive it for the first time.

Get some color on her and get back into the garage!!!

Thanks Tyler. I really appreciate your help, support and council - more than you can imagine.

Rarely if ever are projects like these successful without help and I have been privileged to work directly and indirectly with many talented people such as yourself and I look forward to the time that we can relax a bit and really beat the tar out of this thing.

We'll get some color underneath it next week. In the mean time the traction control unit just showed up so there is that to play with and I just finished tweaking the RS headlights for the H4's and then there is Brother Matthew...

I'm also wondering about that left header, why all the twisting and turning? I'm sure there's a good reason for it that's why I'm asking. Looks great. Can't wait to see it in paint. That motor is sick looking. You're gonna have some fun with that setup.

It's so the primary pipes are all equal in length.

how much was it for Katech to mod that Ls7?

am i looking like another 15gs to mod mine?

The twisted drivers side header is for a few reasons; the first one is that there is a steering box bolted to the frame on that side and it is tough to get a Tri-Y header around it. Second is that the tubes need to be as close to equal length as possible, and the third is that is the only way to make it happen on a Tri-Y header.

They fit better than any other header out for the LS1 into the 1st gen platform, and after we get the dyno sheet back from Katech, we can show you how much more power they made than Katech's best dyno cell headers.

A couple of shots of the headers in the sub.

It's increadible to have this kind of steeing box/shaft clearance with this large a tube header.

We are using a RaceLogic adjustable traction control setup. The ATS AFX spindles already incorporate the C5 wheel speed sensor and Mark Williams built us a set of axles incorporating late model mustang abs reluctors (link (https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36009)).

Some BIG BRAKE Porn...

You really don't appreciate how big the AP Racing 6-piston calipers are until you look at them from the front or back. These things are massive!
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2008/04/apr20252011-1.jpg
The braided brake line will be swapped out after we mock the HRE's up tomorrow and get all of that sorted out. The line that we used above was supplied with the brake kit and probably fits a Z06 perfectly.

Without anything for scale it is hard to appreciate the 14" rotors.
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2008/04/apr20252010-1.jpg

In order to get the brakes to fit on the ATS spindles with the 1/2 studs the bolt holes had to be ever so slightly enlarged (we used a 17/32" bit) and the backside of the stud holes had to be countersunk to clear the shoulder of the press is studs (we used a 1/2 countersink). None of that is required when using the stock 'vette wheel studs - only if you upgrade to the larger press in racing studs.
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2008/04/apr2025209-1.jpg

The workmanship of the AP rotors and calipers is really impressive. They are really nice pieces; thank for the hookup Tyler!
