Thank you again for the comment! I need more progress to get more pics! Hopefully this week ill lay the motor and trans in the chassis, get my bling for the motor :naughty: and get the body sent off to media blast. I will be sure to update as it happens.

Most definatly going to be injected! Gotta love the idea of starting the car on the first try no matter what the temperature, and getting great mileage to boot!

Nothing really to show yet. Jeremy has been doing rust repair for a few weeks. Going to start shaving handles and the firewall this week and then off to media blast. I will get pics of it all in primer when it comes back.

what color is the silver on the suspension? is that going to be the same color on the body? looks a lot like my silver.... its a great color.

InMotionJosh
03-27-2008, 03:14 AM
The suspension is powdercoated a dark charcoal color. The paint is going to be a color called Dark Shadow Grey to match my 06 Harley F350.

which headers are those? what engine mounts did you use? whats closest to the ground as it sits (crossmember, headers, tranny pan)?

InMotionJosh
04-10-2008, 02:07 PM
Those are the hooker headers with hooker adapter plates. I used engery suspension motor mounts. I bought these headers when they first came out and they were supposed to be for chevelle, camaro, nova, but they did not fit the chevelle at all so the crossmember had to be cut up to make them work. They do make a chevelle set now that should work without any cutting. If i was to do it all over id look at the edelbrock setup.

The headers are definatly the lowest point.

I know I shouldnt let this out of the bag yet but I just cant sit on these pictures. We put the body back on to check for clearances so that the tranny tunnel could be made. Body work is starting now but this is just back from media blast and primered.

Let me know what you think. Lots of new pics coming in the next week or so, be on the lookout.

mine should be back on the road in 2 months (though not painted) I expect the car to be back in a week with the front of the fream fixed (wish I had the time to pull the body and get the whole frame blasted and coated)

engine should be back in a month or so form the rebuild

Good luck, im a little farther off than you. Getting the body finished and painted will be my major hurdle and then time for final assembly.

Finally got the Synister Serpentine Kit Installed(ps dont ever buy from them). Also the body is just about done and ready for paint which hopefully will happen this week. Also the interior is coming along nicely. You can see the custom dash test fit here. Its made of fiberglass and only weights 15lbs. There will be matching door panels and console as well.

Depending on what tire he's running its just due to over all Diam. of the tire...I'm still thinking on putting 20's and 22's on my 65'gto. From me thinking 19's and 20's on it I would go with a wider tire 345/25/20 it's about 27"s tall if i go 22's i'd go 295/25/22 and its about 28"s tall

MirandaBuilt made the crossmember that way to stiffen the chassis a little more, and also because the shorter the crossmember is, the less it can flex.

Some new bling showed up today from Abear Motorsports. www.abearmotorsports.com

The fit was perfect and the finish was even better. They turned them around from the time I ordered them and got them the info for the engraving in a very short time. They are perfect and couldnt ask for more. I really like that they hide the coils. I would highly recomend them to anyone who might be looking for some nice LS valve covers.

MirandaBuilt made some good progress on the car today. Jeremy fabbed up the exhaust system. Dustin installed the Rock Valley Fuel tank and plumbed it. I want to thank Rock Valley, Red Horse, and Magnaflow for all the parts for this build. The Magnaflow mufflers, high flow cats, and stainless tubing were top notch and great to work with. Rock Valley sent this beautiful stainless tank with internal pump, and Red Horse sent all the black fittings.

I used converters to mellow out the car a little bit, and also to keep the fumes down.

Here are a few updated shots of the car. Miranda Built made alot of good progress on the car this week. The engine started, front end is on, began plumbing the AC system, transmission lines are done, fuel system is done, suede headliner is done, carpet is done, seats have all been covered in leather, etc.
