How much does an americana 20X8.5 weigh? Are these made over seas?

Not even close. They are made right here in California, by Schott Wheels themselves. They have approached wheel manufacturing from a very high end, focused emphasis put on quality. They are some of the nicest, well made, forged wheels on the market today, coming from individuals who have been in the wheel making business for over 15 years. Because of the extra time spent in the development of their product, they are able to achieve a few different things. They are able to produce a center cap design "cover-loc" which completely hides the lug nuts in a way very different then ever before. Also, their center forging is milled to allieviate any type of unnecessary weight. There is a very cool video on their site showing how the "Cover-Loc" works. Click the link below:

When will they release the 6 lug? Will the design of the americana stay the same? I mean, will they keep it a 5 star pattern or change it to 6?

The Venom wheel has a nice Shelby Cobra "look" to them and the knock off is the icing on the cake.

And the knock off spinner is interchangeable to other wheels. Here it is on a Velocity:

Some of the designs look good but covered lugs got to go. Way outdated look IMO.

I would normally agree, but after looking at these wheels and how they are constructed, the windows of these wheels are just as big as they would be on an exposed lug wheel, because of the design of the cover-loc, so you get a nice smooth wheel, easy to clean, with the look of a exposed lug wheel. I kinda lean towards it being a highbrid. Not like a same old Budnik Famosa with a huge hub area, under a bulky cap.

Six lug is something they are looking in to. When makeing six lug, the pad diameter needs to increase because now you are going from more common 5" and less diameter bolt cirlcles, to 6x5.5" and larger, so this requires a whole different forging, with larger diameter pads, and larger bore sizes, and whole new center caps. Obviously, the forementioned is expensive to develop, and will take time.

If/when it's done, wheels like the Americana can potentially stay five spoke, becasue the lug pattern is not exposed, and dictating spoke count.

You have a winning ticket right there! The truck market is especially gonna like you!

I agree, the old style coverd lugged wheels do look out of date.

But IMO the Schott wheels look nothing like those. These wheels look more the a spindle mounted wheel using a true knock off. A totally different look to me.

I'm getting me some...

I totally agree. The center cap carries over the curves/design of the rest of the wheel. Looks good to me.

OK I took a better look and the are growing on me.
