Just joined and I see there is a wealth of information here. I am daring to be differnt and building a 1972 vega, originally a 28,000 mile virgin with no rust. It now has a 427 big block chevy with twin garrett t3 turbos, hooked to a t-56 -6speed manual trans. I have installed a s10 rear axle, front spindles and brakes, 12 point rollcage that allows full use of the inside of the car. I plan on driving it alot and would like to take it on the hot Rod power tour when completed. It sits currently on 17x7" front and 17x8" rear american racing hopster wheels with 235/45/17, and 245/45/17 rear tires. This was the most tire that could be installed without tubbing the car. Plans for vintage a/c and possibly power windows.

That is gonna be one handful of a ride! I've always wanted to do a V8 Vega or Monza myself.

That's one crazy fast ride...if you can keep it under control!

This is my 3rd big block vega I have built, last 2 were pro street, drag cars, I am used to the short wheel base where the back end is trying to eat up the front end...LOL!!! It should make for a fun ride with only 9.4" of rubber on the ground........never had a turbo car so I figured what the heck,do it!

With only 9.4" of tire that S-10 rearend *might* live a little while. That's a LOT of power going thru a 7 5/8" rear.

Keep us posted on the progress...this is gonna be wild!

What kind of tires are you buying? Lets see, big block, Vega, two turbos, I need to look into buyings some shares of ???? I always wanted to do a small block Opel GT.

tires...cheap ones as I am sure they will only make it a few miles.....sounds like alot of fun anyways. Its only money you cant take it with you ...right?? LOL!!
