View Full Version : John's 68 Camaro "Bloodline"

I dont have a name for it yet but it is going to be black with a white bumble bee stripe. LS1/T56, black houndstooth interior, and unsure of rear at this point. For now its name can be "Its getting there" until I find a better one.

Here is a pic I snapped today while in the blasting booth right before it was blasted.

Cool, what are the plans?

Well I started as it going to be a 396SS resto but plans changed. I fell in love with the pro touring cars.

It will have:
New quarter, full floor, trunk, dash, etc
DSE mini tubs
4 link
Unsure on rear maybe 9"
8 pt cage
Vintage Air setup
LS1/T56
18" wheels

Paint will be back to its original Tuxedo black w/ white bumble bee stripe. Interior Im debating on going back to its original black houndstooth or getting some custom front seats and upholstery.

Just need to keep saving money ! This stuff gets expensive

Heres some updated pics. Sorry for the poor quality they were taken with a cell phone. The tailpan was shaved. The plate for the firewall was tacked in but still needs to be welded all around. I was bored one night so I took my buffer and some compund to the S&P mounts and shined them up.

Anyone want to help me think of a project name? Car is going to be black.

More progress. My firewall is done. Just need to make the holes that I need before it gets painted. I polished a lot of my LS1 and will be test fitting it this weekend before car gets painted. Hoping to get some paint on it by middle of next week.

Well after getting frustrated and trying to sell my car I decided to finish it. I used a super cool ATS crossmember, S&P mounts/Prothane, and Autokraft pan. The booster is a 7" chrome (yellow stuff is masking tape). Next up I need to order a rear Prodigy bar and Moser from Frank.

The body shop did it. Not sure on dimensions. It was done so the motor could be set back a couple inches (which I still need to do once I get plates)

Console is done. Carbon is just resting on there for the pic which is why you can see the wood in the corner

Well I have some more updates. The manifold is giving me issues. The flanges need to be removed and angled upward in order for it to clear the alternator and sanden. DOH!!!! The headers fit perfectly however I may get different valve cover since I fear the carbon ones might melt. The brakes are installed and look good. Everything will be under the dash even the brake lines. Remote reservoirs will be hidden in the cowl panel that way the firewall will stay perfectly smooth and clean.
