I just bought a 2008 Tahoe 4x4 (2WD is not an option here with the weather) with the LT3 Z71 package. Black on black leather with all the goodies. I am enjoying the truck so far (450 miles so far). :twothumbs

My only complaint (besides losing the 6CD changer when you have Navigation....c'mon GM!) is that it is too quiet. :screwy:

What do you guys recommend for aftermarket exhaust systems? Any other worthwhile mods?

do the K & N air intake , I just did on my 07 Tahoe and it did make a difference . I want to do the exhaust next , when I get the time , also I've heard and read some that the programmers can help.

I’d like to figure out how to get the advertized MPG

How do I get it to use the 4 cylinder mode more often? Right now it switches when I’m going downhill. I put the K & N kit on and it made it peppier.

I have been averaging 14.5 mpg with just city driving so far. I switched the trip odometer to show the instant mileage (it also shows when the motor gets cut to 4 cyl.) and I agree, so far it only seems to cut it to 4 cyl when you actually back-off the gas (coasting).

Have you tried it on the freeway? our dodge cut to 4cly when you reach a constant speed.

Can't go wrong w/ a Corsa Catback. Best catback on the market for the NBS and NNBS trucks and SUV's hands down. You also might look into a custom tune for it, handheld programmers are a waste of money for these trucks. There is alot left on the table w/ a factory tune, and w/ a custum tune via HPTuners or EFILive you will see more mpg and better all around performance.

Here is a 07 we just finished, black on black everything is black even the 6 piston Baer brakes, lights, wheels, Exhaust and grilles

We use the Magnaflow systems all the time with the Airaid intakes and they sound perfect and run awesome.

Doesn't the variable displacement thing only work when you are going under 55mph or something??

I have a Corsa Sport on my Avalanche - I've had lots of trucks with loud exhaust and it needed to be manageable this time. I must say, the Corsa rocks when I'm on it and it's almost slient at cruise. I didn't think it could be done, but Corsa did it. One downside - the sound is a bit annoying when it is in 4cyl mode, kinda raspy and then it lets out a good bark when it goes back into 8cyl. It was annoying enough that I deleted AFM when I had the truck tuned, but I recently had it reflashed and AFM reactivated when gas hit $4 around here. It's only a few MPG, but I'm going to see if I can get used to the sound.

Check out www.tahoeforum.com. I snoop around there occasionally for info regarding my '07 Tahoe. It seems to have become pretty heavily a pimp-my-ride kind of site lately (LOTS of discussion on 22-26" wheels, stereo mods, interior bits, etc.) but if you do some searches there's a bunch of info on exhaust changes including the kit you can get directly from GMPP.
