Went to see Chris Titus at a local comedy club.
Chris was cool enough to invite us back stage and talk for a few min.
This guy is super funny!!!!!!!! And most of his act is true life stuff such as: Recent divorce-screwed up family life/ parents/
His p.r people tried to cut us short, but when all of us spoke up about hot rods we got his attention.
He said he will be at Sema with his TAhoe?? He still has his FOOSE mobile (wife didnt get that in the divorce)
Anyways justa small touch of fame in a small town..Thought I would share.

Gosh I'm in the minority here. I never cared for his stand-up or the show for that matter. Pretty cool guy though from what I've heard. Hell just lovin' hot rods makes him cool.
The guy that played his brother in that series also played the part of Scott Fargus (the bully) in A Christmas Story.

I was just asking a buddy about "Big Shots" today hoping it wouldn't be cancelled, only delayed. Now I'm bummed that they took if off the air, that blows.
Hopefully Titus will surface in another show soon.

Chris said you can actually go on abc or nbc web site..
There is a voting poll for that show...If they get 10,000 votes
the network will at least reconsider the show...So I took one for my man Titus and voted for it I'm #6095..so everyone get out there and vote to help another car guy out:headbang:

He can be funny but his tv special about his Foosemobile was really annoying. About a dozen times he said.
"If Charle Sheen asks me where he can buy one I just tell him he can't its one of a kind HA!"
He was so smug about it, You would have thought he built it himself, About all Titus contributed was his checkbook.
I kept thinking that If I was as rich as Charlie Sheen I would pay Chip Foose to make one for each member of my family then take a family cruise over to his house one night.

I met him up at Sam Foose's house when Chips Dad was building the '56 Chevy. Nice guy. He had his 2 year old daughter with him and she fell in a mud puddle and he knew he was going to catch Hell from his wife.
The one thing that bugged me about him later was when he did a "Rides" episode where suddenly after hanging out with Chip, he thought he was a Designer and tricked out his wifes Explorer. He simply didn't have the eye or the talent in that department.

I saw that Ford Expedition, and sadly; as a paint theme designer, he's a good comedian....
But another show I do remember, was a power tour where he was driving his 56 roadster, and a guy with a 70's Nova had a tranny die, and they tossed the Nova in his trailer, dragged it to a tranny shop in the next town, arranged a fresh TCI tranny waiting, swapped in the fresh tranny, then presented the shop's bill for $5, truly a class act there.
He was also funny as hell, I'd drink a few beers with him.

I'm with you there. I tried to get into watching that show, just because of the hot rods, but after like 3 episodes I just couldn't watch anymore.
I haven't had the opportunity to hear his stand up though.

Do any of you guys remember when Chris wrote a column for the Goodguys Gazette?
We used to see him at all the Goodguys and a lot of the Northern California events from the mid 80's until he got more gigs and then the TV show.
I thought he was sort of cocky and snide in his mannerisms but his show was entertaining for the sillyness and stupidity of the characters. In other words, just mindless entertainment. But I did enjoy watching it when I could catch it. He seemed to be at two extremes after the show was popular. Sometimes mellow and appreciative of making it big, but then the other side of his attitude would come out and I believe it was just his personality and the way he dealt with life in general.
When reruns of the show appear, I know I will watch it compared to what else is on the air...
Cynthia Watros was definitely worth watching but I never watched Lost! when she was on the show...Must have been the cars on Titus...

Actually the Tranny was a manual, richmond I believe and they gave it to them for a dollar. White Nova, Nova guys wife had a red Deuce Nova, and they were messing with a local race car afterward, like top alcohol funny, the neat thing was the local race car was tuned by the 16 yr old kid.
Titus got a free Tshirt.
Oh and hey who can design a car the first time out and make it perfect. We all have tried, failed and redone it. Heck even redone it with wife,GF,buddies, enemies input to get it better.
