Needs some wheels for my camaro

I have been looking all through the site and at most of the sponsors. I like quite a lot of what I see except the price. Looking for a set of 18x8 and 19x10 to go on my 69 camaro. I can't justify spending $3,000 to $4,000 for wheels, styles change, they get damaged and have very very little resale value. Suggestions are appreciated, just not interested in something like tsw or similar brands.

check out intro, the endless series is less expensive. it doesn't show them in a 19" though. i went with 18's.

Bonspeed, Boze, Schott and DPE all make wheels I like. I called Boze as they are 20 or so miles from me and they quoted me $2,900 yesterday.

It seems odd to buy wheels made in California from someone in Indiana or Florida, especially when I live in LA. It would be nice to deal direct. But if you guys can help I'm all over it.

just to clarify my point, since you can't use wheels without tires, I always consider the costs of a set of wheel as a whole (including tires). So I was really referring to $3,000 to $4,000 as the whole costs to be able to drive my car with a set of wheels.

So far I have received assistance from a few very helpful people, but it still looks like no one is providing a good solution. Can I be the only person who doesn't want to spend two mortgage payments on a set of wheels and tires? Does it really cost that much to produce these things?

It is what it is bud. If you want quality two or three piece wheels you have to pay for them, especially in the sizes you want to run. You will forget about how much they cost once they are mounted!

Nope, my solution is to hawk over the classifieds on these forums and on craigslist, and hop on the best deal I can find. Heck 3-4k is more than I have into my entire car, there's no way I can justify spending that on wheels/tires alone.

Im with the both of you! Ive been living on craigslist for several weeks now looking at wheels. You can find some great deals on used wheels on that site.

Stock vs Modified is the biggest issue. For most of the higher end builds here, stock specs just won't work. That means custom backspacing and widths. They just aren't mass produced. Your build and budget has everything to do with the wheels you pick. In a mini tub situation going to a 18/19 stagger makes it quite a bit more expensive wheel and tire wise.

I just decided on a set of V48's from Vintage Wheel Works. They are a totally different look than the large by huge fully polished wheels that most people get. To each his own, but sometimes a very modern design wheel just looks "too" modern to me. The only "downside" is they only offer up to 17" diameter, which isn't exactly on the cutting edge of styles right now. But these wheels aren't supposed to be ultra modern design, they are more of the timeless classic design, updated to get you into some lower profile rubber for better performance. I wanted a wheel design that looked "right" on the car and that wouldn't look dated in a few years (not trying to dig on the other wheels styles). I went the billet route on my hot rod 48 pickup and now they are starting to look dated I think. I hate to think of buying more wheels!!

I saw a car in HRM that got me looking at this company.

The V48's (or other style) are priced very well, and the delivery is (GET THIS!) UNDER 2 WEEKS to my door. In fact, more like 6-8 working DAYS! And, made in USA as well! The rim blanks are rolled in Indiana, final machining and assembly in CA.

The only reason I even brought it up is you mention budget conciousness, I am too, so went this way. The 4 wheels, custom b/s and all, shipped to my house was just a hair over $1400. Got a set of Sumitomo HTR Z summer tires (315s and 245s) from Tirerack for $407 shipped.

Just thought I would put a good word in for Vintage Wheel Works.
