Hi all, this site and the information you are all willing to share is incredible! Just thought i'd intro. myself....
I own a 68 Firebird h/t that i will be swapping the drivetrain out this summer(currently a sbc and 9") for a more original pontiac 326, th350(hopefully5 gear later) and 12 bolt .373 posi rear end. I love the power of the sb but I just want to drive my car alot more, cruise with my 5 year old son and just get more use from it. I just ordered a set of Heidts dropped spindles and then read the threads on them.....I hope the 17" centerline "RETRO'S" will not hit the steering arms! I have already installed a set of S.T springs, a 1 1/4 front swaybar and poly bushings throughout. I just want it to be LOWER!!!
I am also building a 68 Firebird convertible for a Friend/client....Aiming for a 377h.p. 400. I have the TKO-600 for it and have installed the TCI front subframe and rear 9", 4 link with coilovers.....all the metal work is almost done and hopefully painted in the next month. I haven't picked the seats yet but I know the owner wants tan leather or suede, which should look killer with the dark green metallic body color.
It has been very cool seeing so many different makes of pt cars, and nice to see some first gen firebirds too...
