first of all, thats just being selfish...
second of all, If I had the money and the talen, I would definately go though and part of all that I could, you could definately get your money back on that stuff, it would just require a lot of time, if I had the talen to re-chrome that stuff, or re-coat all of those headers, I imagine there would be a nice chunk of change in it, plus you get use of the land as lone as you want, so you dont have to worry about moving anything...
but most importantly, that guy is a selfish jerk for aquiring so much stuff he will never use, at least he protected it from getting scrapped I guess...

These cars might be worth some coin now, but I bet when he started compiling his junk yard they were all cheap and unwanted cars. It's not until his later years that the value of his junk yard was transformed into a collectors paradise!
I wonder if the guy had some type of obsessive compulsive disorder? He sure did compile a lot of stuff!

Lets make it a group purchase, and we all agree to go in and clean it up :D then we can use the land and make a track. perfect idea..

Some of that stuff people probably paid to have it picked up and some was bought for scrap metal weight alone .
The land is most likely on the edge of an EPA hazardous waste site and would cost you more than it's worth to clean it up the way they would require once it is sold.
hey watch me make a convertable top out of a bedliner, looks like a Red Green sanctuary :Alchy:

Funny. i see my childhood there. My dad owned a wrecking yard till I was 17. I grew up playing in buildings full of parts just like the one pictured above. I'd buy all that stuff If I had the money. Just to have a wrecking yard again.

incredible.......!!!!!
so many thoughts.......earlier post said how at one time this stuff wasnt worth much and he saved it from the crusher......absolutly right!!......its far from "crap"......original crossram , 2x4 set ups, rallye dashes......could really make a guys day (and project) by finding some of those parts.......Id like to see someone buy it up organize it all and sell every part to an appriciative buyer.......doug

Look, I found me a pot of gold!!
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gif
Oh wait, that's just a pot of pocket change... :jump:
Dang, if I had the money, I'd be in a quandry about buying all that stuff. I know I'd get my money back, and then some, but I'd be way too afraid of not knowing some of the really rare stuff is worth and selling it for cheap. Plus I think it would take me 5 or 10 years just to wade through everything and sort it out...
I agree with what has already been said. That guy must of had a screw loose to collect all of this stuff and hoarde it. Selfish. And for God's sake, put those cars in a garage!!! Just rusting out in a field... ahhhh!!! :seizure:

You'd easily have a lifetime of work either restoring cars or selling parts, but is it really worth $1.6M? He's had it for sale a number of times for $2M with obviously no luck. It would seem like it would take 10 years to come even close to moving all that inventory, and I'd guess anyone with the funds to buy it would not have the interest.

It looks like a bunch of scrap to me. Some of those bodies would be cool with modern mechanicals, but old rusting axle housings, intakes, cxarbs, etc... https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2008/04/doublepuke-1.gif (http://smiliesftw.com)
