The t-5 weighs about 70 lbs but can't handle any power without an aftermarket gearset. With aftermarket gears they will handle about 550 lb/ft but case flexing is still the reason they break, the aftermarket gears are more straight cut reducing gear spreading. The case out of my TA has about 4 cracks in it around the mainshaft bearings but you can weld up some of the webbing inside and weld a plate outside to make it last.
