I am trying to bleed new brake system with new hydroboost installed. I am trying to use a mighty vac to bleed the lines, but it seems like I am only getting dribbles of fluid through it and that the hose fittings on the mighty vac are sucking some air. I assume if the brake is bleed properly when I pump up the vac and crack teh valve I should get a constant flow of fuid?

I assumed this might take a while since I would have to get fliud through all the new lines, but after an hour it does not seem to be going well. I have gone around on all the brakes, but have concentrated on the front driver(closest to the master).

NOrmally I woudl bleed the brakea conventionally by pushing on the pedal and cracking the valve, but with the hydroboost I do not know if this is possible, because without the car running I do not have a pedal. Is this correct or should I have a firm brake pedal without the car running?

I am not that familiar wiht how the hydroboost will feel when it functions properly because I have never used one before.

ANy help is appreciated.

I think with the hydroboost you should have a few assisted pumps and then it should be like manual brakes. With the mighty vac you might try a reverse bleed.

I have had trouble with my miti vac and dry lines. I replaced rear wheel cylinders recently on my Suburban and had to do the pump, hold, bleed method to get the fluid going. Once the large air pocket was removed, I was able to switch back to the mitivac to finish up.
