I put an Accel DFI SuperRam system on my big block and I like it. It looks good and runs good. I had my computer sent in for some updates and when I get it back I should be able to dow some more tuning. I've been able to do quite a bit of tuning myself but am going to bring it to a local shop to fine tune it.

Here's the system I have but I got the oval port. I believe you can get it for under $4000.

I had to replace the injectors with larger ones as well. Upgrading the fuel pump may be required but the one in the kit should handle up to 750 hp. I'm running MSD distributor, coil, and 6AL box. It took a little to impliment that but it works great. Accel sells a distributor to work with the system and will allow you to run siquential fuel injection although I don't believe that's necessary.

The Accel system can run 3-stage nitrous, AC feadback and cutout, knock sensor, fans, has a build in rev limiter, and a lot more features I don't use.

I would definately run EFI again.

Well I would think from a pro-touring stand point the LS would be the first choice... Only because of weight distribution. I love me a BBC! But there are some aftermarket alloy big blocks I believe. I think the LSX is also a viable choice it is capable of 454CI of displacement, and in a compact package. Don't know the weight difference on that though, I think that is a iron block still.

If I had it to do over I would go with a mildly built LS7.(550-600hp) I have no regrets about my big block, but I like the idea of taking the weight off the nose. I still prefer the look of a properly dressed big block, but the gas mileage is a huge plus as well on the LS7.

For practicallity and all around driving performance, I'd lean towards LS technology. That being said, nothing looks better under the hood than a well prep'ed Big Block!
